Prather in, Felix out for Melbourne United

Melbourne United guard Casey Prather will make his much anticipated return to the court tonight when the team suits up for its Round 18 clash against his former side, the Perth Wildcats.

After dislocating his elbow in Round 10 against the Wollongong Hawks, Prather has made his way back to full strength and passed all medical tests to take the court after two months on the sidelines.

As per NBL injury replacement rules, the addition of Casey Prather will see Carrick Felix out of the active roster.

Chances of a hamstring or similar injury that may keep him out for a further few weeks would have to be pretty good wouldn't they?

Melb said in that they will be keeping Felix around until the end of the season too.

So they should, for insurance.
Wise move to get Prather back in ASAP though.

I believe there are rules against hoarding imports that whilst under contract have been removed from the active roster but Perth did last season with Jaron Johnson so maybe you're allowed to keep a fourth import up your sleeve.

At what point is Felix no longer an option to re-replace Prather?

Once the first playoff game has tipped off?

Prather to have another injury @ 5 min mark of Q2 against Perth.

Felix to play the rest of the way.

Prather to make a remarkable recovery once United wins.

Honestly LoveBroker that is what I am thinking. Utd will do this in an attempt to make it look more "legit" and the general public will fall for it so they will get away with it.

Hopefully not though.

There is 'playing your own game' and then there's 'doing what's best for the team'. Players are encourage to do both. Hope Prather doesn't have this conundrum.

Prather is a player who does tend to stop the ball at times, but not as bad as Buford, Conger, Tokoto
