3X3 Hustle nominations open, but WTF on the prices

3X3 Hustle nominations are officially open and the games start next week, however the prices would push most people out of contention.

With little more than a week to fully organize and get the money together, the prices for team nomination is $166. The uniforms are nearly $70 each. And the times of the tournament aren't even announced.

For someone like me, it is unattainable to magically come up with that kind of money in a week. And I can't just hope and pray that the games finish before I start work at 5. In short - what the hell, NBL? One week to come up with that kind of money, and no set times for the tournament to start and finish? What the hell is this?

First Ever charging $70 for a top?

For 4 players, that's $280.

Plus $166 entry charge?

A total of $466 for a 3X3 tournament?

That's more than $116 per player per team?

They 'may' get 3 games if enough teams enter. That's almost $30 per game per player.

The costs involved reflect the totally prize money. They need to charge in order to have prize money. Or you have an "affordable" comp with crap prizes. Best to see how this one goes and then critique after.

Is the level of prize money based on the number of entries? Otherwise a group of reasonably ABLers could stake $x00 for $y000 and be somewhat confident if there were indeed barely any entries.
