Hawthorn put NBL plans on hold

Jeff Kennett has said the Hawks are "very interested" and "excited" about the prospect of joining the NBL, but wants to see some "governance" issues resolved first.

Anyone know what issues he's referring to are?

LK being a team(s) and league owner.

Look at the NBL structure as a league in terms of Board/Owner etc.

LK - owner of League/Club
CEO - LK former client/friend/business associate
NBL Commission - Clear conflicts of interest

Hawks won't be keen to invest until these key issues are fixed which won't happen unless LK sells out of the league or MU

Not from the Hawks side too?

I wouldn't be surprised if it involves governance matters for both parties, not just one.

Hawks aren't owned/run by the AFL

You'll find the AFL clubs board have very strict standard and requirements about make up/actions/governance of its clubs boards.
