NBL Franchise valuations

Hi

This is related to the "Bullets have been sold" topic but not quite the same. I'm curious as to the valuation of NBL clubs. How much would they go for in the market place? We only really hear about clubs in big global leagues like NBA and Premier League and the numbers are astounding.

We don't really hear about in AFL because I think they have a different ownership model?

So does anyone have any insight to ball park figures of NBL franchises? What was the last transaction before the rumoured Bullets sale?

New franchise licenses were $1mil in mid 2000s, e.g. Dragons.

For existing clubs usually sold for nothing and new owner may just take pver existing debt, e.g. Hawks.

The 25% sale of United to croc media valued the team at $10m.

Impressive.

NO source of course. Kestleman said he wanted $10mill that's all.

The AFR reported it and it was confirmed by Craig Hutchison in a radio interview with Gerard Whateley. There's a stream of it online if you want to listen.

There is a massive chunk of good will and fingers crossed potential in there. LK wants out by 2020. Don't mean that is bad, that is his publically stated plan.
