Nice to see Johnson, Barlow and bairstow in.
Creek comes back and a few fresh faces in green and landale.

Not sure why green isn't in u18 squad?

Great to Moller in there, getting better and better, hard to believe only 2 seasons ago was playing afl. This one is for true believers basketball people.

If Creek signs with Brooklyn - won't that possibly make him unavailable? I remember reading somwhere that the CBA requires all signed roster members to be with their team from September - not sure how it applies to 2 way contracts though.

It's not from September, you're being vague. It's from mid-September just after FIBA qualifying window finishes.

I'd go with...

Cadee/Norton
Lisch/Mccarron/Gliddon or Sobey
Creek/Newley
Bairstow/Barlow/Moller
Johnson/Landale

For non-veteran players the first date to report is either 21 or 22 September depending on when your team plays their first pre-season game.

Cheers. So, hopefully Watanabe can suit up for Japan.

Does the reporting date apply to 2-ways though?

Anon the vagueness wasn't deliberate.

No problem. Here you go:

September 21 -- First allowable date for players participating in preseason NBA Global Games to report to their teams (no earlier than 11 a.m. local time)

September 22 -- Training Camps open for all teams participating in preseason NBA Global Games

September 24 -- First allowable date for all other veteran players to report to their teams (no earlier than 11 a.m. local time)

September 25 -- Training Camps open for all other teams

Only 5 Brisbane Bullets.
Good to see Green in the squad even if he doesn't make final 12 the exposure as a 17 yo will be valuable.

Not sure why Barlow and Gibson are in squad but they need 24 to make up numbers. Overall not a bad list.

You would think it's a straight swap, DJ for Kickert but I would be unsurprised Lemanis still didn't want DJ and was pressured to swap him for Kickert and so the end result is that DJ still won't play

The NBA dates are official training camp dates.
A lot of players are around much earlier, they just can't have formal training sessions with NBA coaches.

So it may be better for Creek to be in NYC earlier, plus he will need to settle in a bit before training camp.

Without Creek I would go
Cadee Martin
Lisch Sobey McCarron
Newly Gliddon
Bairstow DJ Kay
Brandt Landale.

I think we need to be careful that we don't just make wholesale changes for the sake of changes. The nucleus of the team has been together since the Asian games and has only lost 1 game. I think making 5 or 6 changes could screw with team chemistry and that would be silly.

D. Johnson would love playing against Asia's "bigs".

Has DJ recovered from his serious groin injury. Isn't it a risk to play him?

The rest did him good. Was the second most important player in the eagles win against north. Most important was CJ

One of the things I am keen to look for this season is how Bairstow's injury recovery has gone and that he hopefully continues to improve his health and shows us what he is capable of again, good luck to him!

Any reason Bogut isn't playing?
You would think he could use the games as a warmup.

Kings would be stupid to release him and risk injury, especially how important he is to their chances and their advertising.
