Former championship winning coach Jamie O'Loughlin has been doing a great job up in Cairns - has signed two years to be lead assistant at the Cairns Taipans. Look for him to take out this years QBL title too

Cairns have done well this season, but they'll be fortunate to move past the first week of finals let alone win the whole thing.
Hahahaha finals Ben? They'll be lucky to break top 6 with that roster. Spoon is between them, Hawks and Brisbane.
Jamie Pearlman just won NZ NBL coach of the year. Also won a QBL coach of the year too I'm pretty sure. Interesting that they made it clear they had no intention of bringing pearlman back - back then make O'Laughlin lead assistant.
Nelson had a good squad and spent plenty but still didn't win it, might be coach off the year but not results based.
