Brisbane New Import inbound

Matty Russell just said that Brisbane has a new import coming in soon. Didn't give much more info. Much needed imo

The comment re: not knowing what country he was from has me worried it's a gimmick signing.

To fit in with their current roster, it will be a recycled import who is overpaid and doesn't fit in at all with the playing makeup of the squad.

They need an entirely new import trio and one of them needs to be James Ennis level for them to be a playoff team. Cadee and Gliddon are not starter level players in this league and certainly not as a starting tandem. Hodgson can't seem to get it together. Te Rangi is a clown. Vukona isn't going to be an impact player at his age. Yeah, they won tonight but that's only because Perth came in lethargically, counted their chickens and were looking ahead to Melbourne.

Looks like those saying the Bullets really really need that 3rd import are all wrong. Good on 'em for getting the W. Makes the United game looming a cracker. Wildcats 0-2 this weekend? United clear favourites now.

I think the two import route is smart, as it allows for injury cover. But you've got to either have two imports who can score (e.g. White and Cotton, Sosa and Newbill) or some locals who are genuine threats (Goulding, Webster, Lisch, Wesley, Sobey, Bogut, Johnson, Blanchfield etc) but Brisbane have gone with role-playing locals and role-playing imports.

That said, they're 2-2 with pretty much a brand new squad, so if the new import is someone who can shift defences it has potential to make the rest of their squad, who are all good players, much more effective.

How are United clear favourite? They struggled to beat 36ers at home and struggled to score.

I wouldn't put too much faith in reading anything from Matty Russell, AngusH, that guy doesn't even know what's coming out of his own mouth most of the time, let alone anyone else, so definitely grain of salt...

Yes you are right. Cats $1.62. United $2.30. Good odds. Happy to bet against perth.
