Why are people Surprised and Hating on the Wildcats?

Wildcats won 2 championships in a row
Last year they were still competitive and made the finals.
In the off season they recruited Jervis, White, Kay, Norton, and promoted Vague.

So ok sure they've spent money some other teams don't have but that's all they have done. They massively improved their squad.
Jervis > Cooke
Kay > Walker
White > Tokoto
Norton > Kenny
Vague > DKD

Why are people surprised they have been good so far?
NZ obviously do not have the budget they once did.
Even Melbourne lost Prather and Wesley
No need to keep alleging some huge conspiracy involving the refs.

What? The hate is directed to the fans and the way they act online. No one is surprised the Wildcats are good (again).

I was just thinking the other day how the hype around the Wildcats preseason was strange how it dropped off so much.

They were really hyped up when they first signed Kay/Norton, but then some hype died down when they signed White instead of a Prather/Conger, and then Hire/Vague instead of a 3rd import. Then when Melb/Sydney both signed big names everyone focused on them, forgetting Perth had actually put together a very nice roster that was a huge improvement on last years.

Coming into the season it felt like a lot of people really underrated them.

A lot of people weren't sold on White, and the fact they've only got the 2 imports for now. I think people weren't sure if they were going to have enough fire power.

We beat an undermanned NZ - It must be the rets
We narrowly beat Melbourne, only because Goulding was injured - oh it must be the refs.

After 50 posts blaming the refs, a Perth fan tries to discuss the actual game - Perth Fans are so Arrogant.

They are hated for their West Coast Eagles-like lopsided foul count at home, and their superiority complex. The only thing worse than a sore loser is a sore winner.
