BSA needs to deal with feral parents

When is BSA going to start dealing with these feral parents. They sit on the sidelines and yell and scream and the refs and what comes out of their mouths are disgusting.

Some of these parents criticise and don't even know the game well enough to even make comments.

Then these parents has the nerve to make disgusting comments about the opposition.

When are parents going to just shut their mouths and stop being an embarrassment to their children.

There is one particular club and it's every district level from U12's to U18's - their club has even warned them about their behaviour and they just can't help themselves.

I think parents need to be escorted out in front of everyone when they become verbally abusive. Enough is enough!

In my experience the last few years, North has been the worst, not sure if it's planned but team managers nearly seem to be instructed to talk to opposition players on court. Having a bit of success ATM and they think they own the world.

North parents should be proud they made under 12 girl so upset she was crying and not wanting to play.refs ignored. So much for play by the rules.

in the early 90's the court controllers (?) in the old Goodwood forestvile stadium would eject parents from the stadium very quickly, i wonder why that has changed.

Problem standards have dropped. Consider coach player fighting premier league. Blatant disregard for sportsmanship by eagles. Win at all costs mentality. Loss of respect for refs. Clubs poaching. Heading towards similar situation as cricket. Feral parents supposedly ruling the roost. Stability lacking across administrators. Now you see them now you don't. Here and gone.

A ref can eject anyone from the stadium. Why don't they?

Let's not bring anything else into this stream but what is the main issue here. Parents behaviour at junior district is disgusting.

Woodville is top of the list with West a close 2nd. This is about parents and they need to know where their boundaries are - spectators and shut up!

Technically a ref isn't supposed to kick a spectator out of the stadium. This is the job for the UIC but sometimes they just aren't around so some refs have resorted to throwing them out. I fully support them getting kicked out and it needs to happen more. Maybe the embarrassment for their child to see might be enough to teach them a lesson. Might make the kid ask their parent to sit in the car while they play.

One day we are going to see an ugly scene where another parent will retaliate or kids. Maybe it might be good to see more reports on these parents and see them go to tribunal.

U10 parents are actually the worse of them all...go figure!

Must be talking about Southern where even their refs apologies for how they are going to call the game because if they don't they will get screamed at and abused.

What happened to the times when a ref would warn the coach that a parent involved with their team was inappropriate and a Tech Foul would be called for any further breaches.
Who voted Woodville & West as the worst?

Its BSA for not backing refs. Club committee or president need to come out and witness how they are being represented and deal with problem parents.

Known fact there are parents from Woodville and west that don't want to talk to other parents on the same team cause of their abusive ways.

Next you'll see refs stop games and not proceeding with game until these ferals are gone and we all welcome it.

Sometimes the crap written here is beyond fiction. So we talking civil war a coming. Segrated seating. Factional bearcats / different warrior camps.in the red corner in the black corner. Must keep eyes open to observe. Must be bliss in the real world. Comfort seats v the benches. So lucky though all United by the Power though.

Yes we are talking about segregated seating. You have a choice of shutting your mouth and sit it the stands with the big people or sit in the car. LOL

As most grounded and mindful parents are fully aware, it is the kids who suffer, sometimes irreversible damage and more often than not become that feral parent due to the disgusting role modelling they are continually exposed to.
If you are a parent like this who cannot regulate your ego during a child's game, you really need to take a hard look at yourself and what you are teaching your kids.
BSA needs to step up here and start dealing with these egotistical freaks. No place in ANY sport for this, let alone in kids games.

All Clubs have their parents with unrealistic expectations or passion which blurs into bias which leads to abuse.

This isn't a one club issue this is a parenting issue, not just for basketball but for most junior sports.

Avery very long time ago , the gossip was that a local SA junior U18/20, who made finally the australian open mens team for a few games ( before they were called the boomers) had worked so hard in the tryouts and SA rep games, because it was going to be their first chance to play in a game where their mother would not be on the sidelines yelling.
Of course in those days there was no audible swearing, even "damn" would get you thrown out, An overhand "V" hand sign would get a "T" ( underhand was ejection and report) -- just normal language at a volume that was truly intimidating, a decade before "boom boxes" .
