Brisbane WNBL team delayed until 20/21

3 parties entered an EOI for the new Brisbane franchise but two pulled out before making a formal bid (!?)

The remaining party has deferred a formal bid to possibly enter the league in 20/21.

I'm shocked that no one is interested in a licence to lose money.

Yeah, ditto. The Bullets aren't exactly struggling against the tsunami of people trying to get into their games, and the failures of the Logan Thunder and SEQ Stars are still very fresh in everyone's minds, so it really doesn't seem like the right time to be pushing for this.

The timing is right with Australia media finally getting behind basketball a bit, its embarrassing Brisbane have been without a WNBL team for so long.
