WNBL / NBL refs incompetence

We all know it's true. Someone here posted recently about losing the experience refs. Not sure who they would be but have a read of this article.
"But stitches couldn't cover the blood-stained jersey that has left Leilani Mitchell questioning whether referees are being held accountable after the foul on the play was called against Griffin."
So 6 stitches later there appears no foul called on the person who hit her.
Pathetic.

These same refs would be reffing the NBL too.

Probably the same ref who didn't call a foul on the bloke who split open Greg Hire's face in NZ a week ago.

Is there not some way to put a "Moron Filter" on this forum?

NZ fouls every team at twice the league average = "Refs favour Perf"

Opposition players commits foul = "Refs favour Perf"

Opposition player gets whacked in the head whilst committing foul = "Refs need to be sacked"

Have you ever actually watched a game of basketball shithead? An injury doesn't mean that a foul has to be called, and it certainly doesn't dictate the direction of a call.

NBA fans complain about NBA refs as well. STFU. It's either officiating as a whole in any sport ever is inherently bad, or people who post on facebook and forums don't have a clue.

I have watched 100's of games over a long period of time at all levels and I can assure you the point raised is 100% valid.

What exactly is the point being raised? That the refs are incompetent? If so what is the solution?

Maybe the OP should go read Boti's article recently on the relationship between the NBL and WNBL commissioners and then realise most of his inference is false.

anyone have video of the incident? I often recall the defence getting hit with a foul on a rip through even if they got clocked in the head.

So Boti is accusing the Caps of home cooking? Is that why they complain when they hit the road and the foul count is marginally against them like today? (15-21 foul count) On Friday night it was 17-22 with at least a couple of those being intentional to stop the clock at the end of the game judging by the play by play so again relatively even. Neither of those foul counts seem lopsided enough to be worth crying about even if they did believe in a magical world where both teams always foul equally.

maybe if you read more than the first paragraph you would have seen this bit

The home-cooking in Canberra has not been addressed by Don't-Carey and it only took a few quick phone calls to find there's hardly a WNBL coach bothering to speak with him post-rounds because "it's a waste of time."
The Capitals are good enough to win the league without wind-assistance but they get it regardless and either the WNBL or BA is too cheap to fly some refs around, or take the view "it all evens out in the end", which it doesn't.

what you couldn't read where the NBL and WNBL don’t talk and the refs don’t ref both leagues?

I'm not sure that particular criticism is relevant to the Perth v Canberra however, as according to the box scores the officials on the game were: a current nbl, an nbl development and an ex-nbl (first season out) official

WNBL has reviewed the incident but thinks it was incidental. Capitals coach and players fined for their comments.
