Burdon and Gange lit up for the academy. Just couldn't quite get over the line. I think they lost by 4 in the end to a West team that had Bell, Phillips, Crothers, Evans etc so a pretty good result for their first game given that they had so many guys out (No Clausen, Zorich, Bungey + others)

Bell played against the Academy? Isn't that a conflict of interest? Someone needs to investigate this - or perhaps Mr Bell needs to sell his 51% controlling share in the Academy before the next game!

Clausen & Bungey are injured, as is Craddock

Zorich is away

Academy was also missing Mapunda & Reeves who were away with the Warriors

Great effort by the Academy boys in their first game
