Moore’s pushups over Grida

This was a DISGRACEFUL stunt and showed no respect to a fine young player.

100% agree with you Mock! I thought it was unsportsmanlike and bushleague type behaviour. Not sure what the ref's were thinking, should've been a tech

Nah it was disrespectful. And he went on with it for a good few seconds.

Think about it this way: another man gets in your personal space and physically keeps you from getting getting up off the ground until he finishes showboating on top of you. Then if Grida would have rightly taken exception and showed Moore away, Grida is the bad guy.

I'm not a leftie and even I think what Moore did wasn't on. I said it in the other thread, should have been a tech foul.

"I'm not a leftie"

Not sure the relevance of political leanings to the NBL.

That comment wasn't anything to do with NBL at all, it was to do with interpersonal respect. Think about it.

People on the left are more concerned with rights violations and making sure people's feelings aren't hurt.

My point is that I'm not a left-wing thinker (for the most part) so I am far from extreme in how I view such things, but even I thought it was a violation of personal space and should have been punished.

NBL Twitter account laughed at the incident so all is okay because god knows they have tact

What should have happened is that someone from the Hawks should have slapped Moore silly for that disrespectful act. At least push him away and let him know that kind of crap was unacceptable. No one did. Speaks to an extreme lack of leadership in that group.

Lighten up.

Hawkes players didn't step in because it was a good laugh

Some of you need to learn to take a joke rather that start a fight.

Manu. You sound like a trump supporter to me

Not a great look from the NBL at all. Grida showing more class than the league by a long way.

NBL comes off worse than Moore, having had time to at least think about what they were doing. I doubt Moore could see the reaction at the time and realise that it was more disrespectful than playful.

Next question is, did he get in more pushups than field goals made per game?

I like the phrase "casual Christmas racism", but is racism ever casual???

How bad was the post that was modded?

Thanks Isaac. Just saw the footage.

Grida did show class.

Perhaps a quiet apology and discussion between the 2 before their next game (preferably in person) will settle it.

Show the whole clip. How it came about. Not just the end.

The whole thing was a tangle up with nothing untoward.

And he did a couple of press ups at the end. And the whole stadium laughed.

Jolly good fun.

But if you are going to analyse it and get all uptight. You really need to show the whole thing

Total bullshit. In my mind he should have got an unsportsmanlike foul. Just imagine if it was Drmic on the receiving end. He gets up swininging.
Of course the crowd was laughing it was a New Zealand home crowd.

Memory fails me, but about 15 years ago there was a college player that did push ups every time he was fouled and hit the floor on a drive and HE did this same move and it was never raised as an issue of respect...

I'm all for a good push and shove after showing up a teammate, but the way no-one reacted probably sums it up. Don't think any disrespect was meant, just a bit of a hot dog act. If Conklin had ran in he would be crucified with all his elbowing and dirty player reputation. If Hawks players feel so aggrieved then set a few moving picks on him next game.

I think the unnecessarily harsh reaction from some shows the Aussie sporting psche (poorly). Whether it be cricketers sledging. Bogut getting unnecessarily personal with homicide...

It gets ugly too quickly with some of you.

Just chill.

There was never anything in this. Other than a laugh.

The commentary about hawkes needing to run in. No, you don't need to make more of it than what it was. You don't need a fight for nothing

Show the whole video. Have a laugh. Move on

$250 less than elbowing someone in the head with your loose arm which somehow came off the ball to get Conklin but magically was incidental at the same time.

Classy of Grida to not react, but it's a seriously dickhead move from Moore... He's lucky he didn't do it to one of the 36ers players who always seem to be up for a bit of chest bumping, there could have been another brawl...
