Who needs a Tasmanian team when you have great double headers like today?
First up, the boys from Bris-Vegas suit up against the Steeltown Warriors. The game is early, so they will have plenty of time to head back up the escarpment to watch the Harbour fireworks. With a game in Sydney only a couple of days ago, rumour has it the Brissie boys have been billeted to the Hawks players and seen the tourist attractions of the town, including a surf with Oscar.
Plenty at stake in this game. Brisbane (8/8) are sitting in 5th spot and have Illawarra (7/9) right in their tail lights. Illawarra is a different team at home and like Bevo said "there's no better team bonding than winning." I guess he never heard of the old footy club trick of keys in the fruit bowl.
I can't see this game being a high scoring game unless it goes to OT, and we all know games that go to OT in the Gong go on a loop for a few OT's.
My mind says Brisbane should have this one in the bag and the Team Manager should have the bus idling ready so the boys can jump in after the game and get to the fireworks, but something tells me the fireworks are going to be in Wollongong.
I'm going to tip a win to the Gonggers in a hard fought game.
