Why can't Brisbane get more crowds than Cairns

Looked to be about 60% full tonight at a guess? Convention Centre hardly a huge capacity stadium either. Cairns probably has a higher average crowd? Come on Brisbane, I thought you liked your basketball.

Because the game night experience is poor. Nobody will make the effort if they're not going to be entertained and have a fun night.

Management group still have no idea what they're doing.

Pre-game outside the venue, you'd have no idea there was basketball inside. Nothing set up for photo opportunities / social media sharing either unless you count a few lame cardboard cutouts inside the venue. Zilch atmosphere.

During the game the music is a mish-mash and doesn't encourage the crowd to participate. Music played over the top of fans who start their own chants. Game stoppages are terrible. Cheerleaders do nothing and might have one on-court routine once a game. Loud-mouthed idiot on the mic douching things up.

Post-game at least the players interact with supporters.

Want to be entertained? Go to a Sydney, Melbourne or Perth home gamne. Want to be miserably disappointed? Go to Brisbane.

Bullets are again doomed to fail unless they get in a basketball mind who knows what they're doing, not a bunch of netball employees.

This is the first season they've not been terrible since rejoining the league. It will take time. Crowds have definitely looked better this season on the whole.

There is not much hype up here around the bullets. Too many NRL scandals to cover

The opportunity for bumper crowds is definitely there. Participation rates for basketball have never been higher in SEQLD. Media coverage is also good.

Bullets let themselves down with poor community engagement, and game are not entertaining to be at. Awkward scheduling (weeknight games, early starts due to daylight savings) also kill off interest in attending live. Easier choice for many to sit and watch in the comfort of their own home.

Of lesser note but still important, there's not really a marquee player/personality that draws people to games.

Weekend games in Brisbane get decent crowds, weeknight games don't. It's fairly simple at this point.

Surely crowd numbers are directly linked to membership numbers. As season member the fact a game is on weeknight or early weekend afternoon should not deter the majority of your membership base as their ticket is already paid for and they can give it to someone without kids if the game is at an inconvenient time. So the question should be, if SEQLD basketball participation rates are high and media coverage is good, why is no-one purchasing full season membership?

On the game night experience point, I traveled over and watched the Wildcats play Brisbane (Our first loss of the season) and couldn't believe how dead it was!! You won and it seemed like everyone's dog was shot pre-game. No getting on your feet, no hype music, no T-Shirt cannons!?!?! Whoever is in charge of game night experience needs to actually experience a game night experience because they seem to have no idea.
