Canberra v Adelaide Feb 9 GF Game 1

It's probably fair to say that the two best teams are in the GF Series. Canberra have dominated the competition all season with Cap. Kelsey Griffen playing a season to remember, completely dominating the stats across the board and essentially demanding the MVP Award.

Adelaide have had a fairy tale run into the grand final, winning 12 of their last 14 games. The financial woes of the team have been well publicised and what a way to prove the critics wrong. Nia Coffey has had a great season too and is an MVP nominee.

A GF series of three games deserves to be played out to its entirety. Fairy tales always involve an against the odds somewhere along the line so that's why Lightning fans shouldn't be too concerned if the girls drop this one.

Remember, it's a best of 3 series, and Lightning ALWAYS strikes twice

Lightning are going to need more contributors than Coffey & Nicholson. Noodles (Seekamp) had a 'shocker' today & Steph Blicavs has been a massive disappointment the whole season really. Lightning’s bench is very thin & didn’t really offer anything today. I think Capitals are bringing their brooms to Adelaide as this is looking like a sweep for sure.

When you remember that Adelaide were 11-2 at one stage, it really was a dominant display from Canberra. Nurse is a weapon and Griffin, Tolo, Wilson, Mitchell are all proven stars in this league.

Nicholson was the only Lightning player who was near her best. I expect them to be better at home but I'd be stunned if Adelaide push it to three.

Yes Noodle was down on her input that she normally brings and she will respond knowing her character. I too do not see Blicavs as any where near the player she "is made out to be". I would put her to the bench and play Clydesdale. Have noodle pick up Nurse and Clydesdale and Nicholson play on Mitchell and Wilson.

Agree, Noodle wasn't at her best and will bounce back. Nicholson was amazing though, credit to Lucas for her development. Unfortunately, it appears Blicavs and Clydesdale have gone backwards :(

Blicavs is still serviceable, but two seasons ago she was dynamic on both ends. LAst year, she played some crazy amount of minutes and her game started to fall off

Game 2 in Adelaide - 1400 tickets pre- sold at $11.50 .
Walk up tickets $15 . Expect about 2000 walk ups.
Might get about 4,000 there .

In game 2 I think she will be reffed more like every other player on the floor rather than the full LeBron treatment she gets at home so that will help too. Still have to match her effort of course which is easier said than done.

There was no ACT referee on court in game 1 whereas during the regular season there are usually 3. She didn't get any LeBron cooking she just kicked your backside.
