Canberra v Adelaide Feb 16 GF Game 3

What a game game 2 was! Thrills, spills, "double dribbles". You name it, it had it.

Today will be the decider. Will Canberra lift the trophy? or will the fairy tale come to fruition for Adelaide? Line up the glass slippers, let's see what's in store.

Canberra was held to 73 points in game 2. An amazing effort by the Lightning and the crowd playing their part too helped. KG23 with an amazing tally of 24 points and 23 boards led all scorers and kept Canberra right in it. No doubt any game plan from the Lightning will revolve around trying the keep a lid on her. Adelaide are not phased by Canberra as was seen in game 1, but poor shooting in that game led to a Canberra win.

It's another sellout crowd in Canberra with "Hollywood seats" being added to get a few more in the door. The Capitals have been the form team all season and it is fitting that they have the chance to win this season on their home court. Adelaide will make it harder than getting a wall along the Mexican border.

Adelaide's season has been a season of two halves. Some Chris Lucas magic and the right script saw this series go into a third game. Has the magic run out? Will the glass slipper fit Nicole Seekamp's foot? Or will the Capitals play the role of ugly step sisters and smash the glass slipper.

This will be a great game and while I would love to see the Lightning get the W, I think the Capitals might just have enough in the tank, then again, the nation's capital is where dreams come true. Just like Hollywood the good guys always win.

Lighting does strike twice, this time by 1 point.

Hopefully any screenshots posted today are not from a grainy standard definition TV screen in the dark from a flip phone taken while laying on the couch like a lazy slob.

#734385 laughable comment as it was clearly off of a SD feed as there was no "HD" in the Fox logo on the photo. You get YOUR facts straight.

I'm glad that the Lightning were gifted game 2 so that the Caps could enjoy this win at home in front of fans that turn up for more than one game in the season

Great win by the Caps. Very strong team.

Such a tough call between Griffin and Whitcomb for the opals going forward.
Both playing amazing basketball.

Surely Cole, Seekamp, Nicholson push out Lavey, Madgen and Magbegor from the opals after a stellar season.

It's also a toss up between Tolo and Bunton as the backup to Cambage.
Bunton was fantastic before her injury. Tolo has been solid but not outstanding.

Ebzery has had a woeful season in Perth and Seekamp should become the starting pg as a result.

The prospect side of things, it sucks that we didn't get to see Wallace. Wish her well in her recovery.
Aokuso deserves to at least attend opals training camp and Mangakahia should be there too, no question.

I'm interested to see if Griffins game will translate against the physical European national sides, and the elite athleticism of team USA? I’d love to see her suit up in the WNBA this season!

2019 - Asia + Olympic qualifiers.

You can cut the 27 player opals squad down right now...
It's pretty clear.

KEEP
(16)
Seekamp
Ebzery
Cole
Whitcomb
Nicholson
Ohea
Allen
Talbot
Grffiin
Bishop
Smith
Magbegor
George
Tolo
Bunton
Cambage

CUT
(11)
Mitchell
Mansfield
Lavey
Tupaea
Blicavs
Madgen
Wallace
Wilson
Blicavs
Garbin
Scherf

Only 4 more cuts need to be made. 1 naturalised, 3 others.

Who TF is Lucy Bailey???

Do you mean Lucille Bailie. If so, calling her Lucy Bailey is enough to make baby Jeses cry and shit himself at the same time...

Lucille has been involved in the club for a long time and is a Caps legend. She's a fantastic GM, excellent role model and supporter of the Caps and WNBL and everyone hopes she stays on with the Caps for the long haul.
