NBL People's Choice Awards

I's like to see whom the "Average Punter" would have picked.

No need to justify your picks, there are no wrong answers.
(Also no need to pick on others. This isn't a debate thread, the official results are what they are.)

You can give a top 3 if you choose.

I'll start:

MVP: Ware, Cotton, Long
DPOY: Jett, Martin, Bogut
6thM: Goulding, Jett, Ogilvy
ROY: Froling, Grida, McVeigh
MI: Stiendl, Te Rangi, Delaney
1stT: Ware, Cotton, Trimble, Johnson, Long
2ndT: Randle, McCarron, Patterson, Bogut, Kay

MVP: Bogey winner, (Cotton, Ware runner-ups)
DPOY: Bogey winner (Ware runner-up)
6thM: Froling
ROY: Froling
MI: Barlow
1st: Ware, Cotton, Patterson, Kay, Bogey
2nd: Trimble, Sobey, Mitch M.C, Wesley, Long (Daniel Johnson unlucky to miss, needs to have had more defensive influence, trimble lucky to make it on his defence)
COY: Bevo winner (Vickerman, Gleeson, Lemanis runner-ups)
Refs: Haven't paid enough attention to them
All-star mismatch team (ie. defensive worst five): Goulding, Webster, Trimble, Jervis, Majok Deng (they'd collectively outscore most opposition but I reckon an NBL1 team could put 100 up against this team)

* Gleeson & Joey should be ruled out of coaching award for too much whinging. Reckon petulance is a factor in awards in the same way that perrin buford was probably ruled out last year due to petulance and quitting

I agree, works well for footy. Id imagine most in Perth for example would like to watch Perth play but not other random teams.

Why the constant plaudits for Bevo? His team finished second last. Not to say that was his fault but it means there are potentially six coaches that did a better job than him.

He does a decent job at times but he was not even close to being the best coach this year. It seems this award is Bevo's to lose each year no matter what actually happens.

Illawarra was in finals contention within two rounds of the end of the regular season. Their list was pretty ordinary compared to the rest of the league (bar cairns) and he still got the most out of them and developed his young guys. If they had the dough to pay for some better talent on that team, he'd be doing what vickerman has been doing. Will be great to see how he goes in sydney assuming he's been identified for that gig.

MVP: Cotton (Bogut, Ware)
DPOY: Bogut
COTY: Gleeson (Top of the ladder, not sure what other criteria there should be)
ROTY: Froling
MI: Kay (decent player at Hawks to starter in top side and all NBL First...you'd think that's an improvment)
1st and 2nd: Agreed with the official results

Player of the year. Hint: wore green and had the highest impact on this entertainment/betting league results in a tight year. Could have gone differently with internationals brought in to independently officiate.
