I saw on one ratings website that game 2 had 38k on fox, good enough for 9th best on fox that day. The top spots were mainly JLT preseason matches, for perspective.
Not bad for STV, however would love to know what 9Go ratings were and in comparison to the netball preseason GF which channel 9 decided was a better event to put on its main channel ahead of the NBL game 2, which were both played at the same time.

Thanks Haz.
So what we do know is game 1 got 24k and game 2 got 38k on Fox Sports

Very surprised that game 1 did well considering what time it aired in most of the country. Maybe half of Perth tuned in and that was enough to boost the national figures.
Hardly surprising, you've got the Biggest NBL city in the country, playing the city that thinks it is
Tha5s a great figure for Foxtel. I acknowledge that FTA games are important but I love watching the games on Foxtel - every game live and in high definition. I hope next season will be on Foxtel.

Many assume the Game 1 late tipoff on Friday night was a hinderance to rating well. Not so. Think about it this way - if it was on earlier in a standard timeslot you are competing with a lot of other local live sport on the other Fox Sports channels whereas this way the game was the only option available therefore splitting less viewers up.
Average audience:
G1
FTA - 69k
Fox - 24k
G2
FTA - 77k
Fox - 38k

Peak Audience
G1 FTA: 147k
G1 Fox: 45k
G2 FTA: 147k
G2 Fox: 67k
Reach:
G1 FTA: 302k
G1 Fox: 81k
G2 FTA: 305k
G2 Fox: 100k
What is "Reach"? Does that include anyone channel surfing who happens to view it for 3 seconds or something?
Its the number of people who reach for the remote when Homicide starts speaking.
How do these numbers compare to our usual averages?

FWIW, the NBL games didn;t make the top 20 shows on either day, for the 5 cities average FTA multichannel ratings. That metric covers 9Go!
For Friday night, #20 in that list was Hey Duggee at 107,000 viewers. On Sunday, it was was Border Security at 98,000 viewers.
That suggests the peak ratings are an order of magnitude higher than the averages.

Still have no idea how they determine TV audience ratings.
it is terribly inaccurate and involves major guesswork and assumptions
Right. So we need to get around the 100k mark to be relevant.

They put the ratings boxes in eggball fans' houses to pump up their local niche leagues so they continue to get overvalued TV deals. It's one massive circle jerk.
