United had an offer for Trimble - last season's leading scorer, at 22.5 ppg - that the Taipans couldn't match, and they said as much in today's statement. From the front office people I've spoken to across the league, it sounds like money is talking a lot in this NBL free agency.

The talk was Joey wanted to sign Trimble but Sixers management wanted Randle instead but Randle won't sign with the Sixers if Joey is still coach.

Good on you Sixers - another one gets away! Where is your big announcement? Was it drowned out by the echos coming from the empty stands at the AEC? Or is it just the same old " let's see what bargains we can pick up after all the big signings have gone!* just like every other bloody year. But you expect the fans to renew their membership again on the back of a massive announcement like Teys signing on for another two!

Interesting to see what SEM do with their import PG spot now.

The should go for a relatively established name because they need a quality lead import guard.

But look, I think those guys can be found, it's just a matter of securing one. Look at Trimble, he was an undrafted guy who doesn't fit the bill of a successful NBA player, but fits a successful NBL import perfectly. There's guys like that that are going to go undrafted every year. I would point out these names from this upcoming draft -

Lindell Wigginton
Tremont Waters
Fletcher McGee
Jaylen Hands

etc.
