PBA (Philippines) Action

He calculatedly waited more than a minute to get his revenge, but in the end "The Beast" gave up any pretence of playing basketball and simply went in for the kill. Calvin Abueva has delivered one of the craziest, cheapest hits seen on a basketball court in recent years during a professional game in the Philippines.

While not condoning the clothesline by Abueva, if you watch the footage of Jones punching Abueva in the groin the referee is literally staring at it and doesn't make a call. Jones then dances after and celebrates with teammates so he had no remorse as Abueva is attempting to jog it off.

He doesn't hit him in the groin at all. The peasant pretends to get hit in the groin. The guy is an embarrassment all round, should be suspended indefinitely at all levels by the governing body.

Phillipine media seem to be rather forgiving of the man. Not being a follower of the PBA, is this generally par for the course?

Seems to be a trend in PBA.

Not long ago Terrence Jones was a half decent NBA player with some upside. Unless there are issues with him he would be pretty handy on a few NBL rosters.

I would be happy if we never played the Philipines again. Something toxic about the league/basketball culture there. Lots of non-basketball player violence.

A guy like this has no reason to be on a basketball court. (not excusing T.Jones either, that guy is a clown and a POS based on his personal history).

Dude wrote his own Wikipedia page. Cringey. Also punched a dude in the back of the head in college.

Just the Philippines further demonstrating why they should have been banned as a federation from the World Cup. Luckily it would take a whole lot of unlikely miracles for them to make the crossovers and semis and face Australia, so we are safe, for now. But I'd be refusing to play them at the Asia Cup, qualifiers, or anything else.

That holding of the nuts seemed very socceresque and dramatic. It doesn't look like there's any contact to me.
