Time for Perth, Brisbane, Cairns and United to get involved.
All teams should have Next Star.

Kenyon Martin Jr. (
@kj__martin
) isn't playing college hoops next year. He had a pro day for NBA teams today in Las Vegas and then will decide his next step. He helped lead Sierra Canyon to back-to-back state titles. He's 6'8 with a 45-inch max vertical and 8-foot standing reach.

Retired NBA big man Kenyon Martin was anything but your typical basketball player. Perhaps this is why it comes to no surprise that his own son, Kenyon "K.J." Martin Jr., has himself decided to take on an unconventional path in his road to the NBA by opting not to play in college next season.

Looks good
What NBL team ?

He is joining the Perth Wildcats. Watch this space. Announcement next week.

They are getting Gleeson and Jnr together for a photo shoot.

This kid is not a projected lottery pick or 5* recruit, like Ferguson, Bowen, Hampton and Ball. He is a big athlete who'll get eaten alive in the NBL. This would have to be a 2 year deal to have any potential value to the club.

You can say he led Sierra Canyon to back-to-back state titles, hype up his name all you like. He's listed as the 48th best PF in his high school class and the 24th best player in the state of California. Could anyone seriously think he's an NBL player this season?

Time will tell
And it's up the NBL expert panel I guess

If the NBL expert panel have any sense they'll tell him to go away or sign for 2 years. We don't need every 3* prospect in America thinking they can score an easy hundred grand and Aussie holiday just by saying they want to play NBL.

None of the interviews on him say that he wants to play in the NBL
At this stage it's all assumptions

I think everyone is getting a bit too excited over the names that have already signed. Kid may not play a minute, but isn't the plan to make them better players. Everyone is drooling how we might be the next big thing churning out lottery picks ready to play. So what if he's ranked where he is, the plan should be to develop him. He might turn out to be a decent import in another league, might naturalise, might play in local league somewhere. If people are expecting these kids to be difference makers they have no idea. I would guess 99% are still doing the college route, this is still a prototype. They just don't cost a regular import spot.

Cassius Stanley and Scottie Pippen Jr the best players on those Sierra Canyon teams by a fair way even though Martin top scored in the title game
