The Alabama Slammer
I was just thinking about this the other day, and given some of the debates recently thought I would share.
He remains one of my all-time favourite players, probably just ahead of Grace.
Great Player, great ambassador for his team and the game.
Plus, a very humble, loyal, and considerate gentleman.
Now consider this. He was born in 1960.
So he spent the 60's growing up,
as a talented black kid,
in Wilcox County, Alabama.
