Lowry dropping out wasn't surprising due to his injury, but the U.S is losing quite a bit of depth in terms of big men with the loss of Bagley. I’m still looking forward to seeing Kemba, Donovan, Tatum, and Kuzma though. They’re probably still guaranteed a medal, but several teams should be competitive.

I wouldn't even say guaranteed a medal. I'd say they're still favourites overall, but only marginally, and there's probably 8-10 teams that could easily upset them on any given night. Could be a rough one for them.

With all of the withdrawals and a format which means you can't have any mistakes, this looks to be the most wide open World Cup ever.
