Pozoglou signs with Wildcats as a DP

In the title, discuss. Seems like a pretty solid signing for a DP!

It's a bit weird. He's been around for a while. Seems to be a very good player at the lower levels. Not sure what another year as a DP will bring?
And hence why the Cats want him?

Maybe they think he is good depth in case on injury?

There is nothing at all weird about it. Good signing.

He has talent but is a bit individual, Perth should be very good for him, teach him it all about team. Could prove a great signing.

Very good get, especially as a DP. Disappointing for Nic that he wasn't able to get a full time contract anywhere, but being in Perth for a season should give him a chance to show what he can do.

What restrictions on DPs are there now? Can they play in all games? I wouldn't be surprised if by the end of the season he's ahead of Steindl in the rotation.

Ahead of steindl? Come on Cram, Clint was huge for them in the back half of the season. Can't see jow that doesn't roll into 19/20.

Nic is undeniably talented and athletic. Will be interesting to see how his different personality meshes with that wildcats team...

"There is nothing at all weird about it"

He's had a couple of good years in SEABL/NBL1, a year or 2 already as a DP, and was widely tipped to get a roster spot. If not with the Hawks, then with a desperate team like Cairns.
Instead he has crossed the country to again sign as a DP again. Yes, that's a little weird.

You'd have to think the Cats see potential there, which itself is surprising because apparently other clubs did not.

They've already got two young locals in the squad, including a Wing, and have already signed Travers as DP. It's curious to say the least.
On the face of it, this isn't another young local they will mentor for a season and then send off to college.

Read the NBL Website which says he signed with Perth as a DP.

It's probably a bit of insurance if 18yr old Wani can't make the step up fast enough.

Pozoglou was elevated to the main roster as an injury replacement for Wani, ahead of the last game.

To be expected.

Interesting that the hawks effectively swapped him for Dech. I think Nic got the better deal.
