Thanks for the thread.

Yeah, surprised me. Thought that that was a great move for both parties when announced and apart from a topsy turvey season, and I know that that's very important, thought he'd at least fill the role for a few years, at least.

The reports I've seen say no more than Cam is going and Wade is in. No whys or wherefors, nada!

Any info any-one?

What would 'the NBL1 push' involve?

Does anyone know?

Re-branding? So..
More media? OK..

Anything meaningful?

having every game streamed is a good thing. Same rules as vic/tas is also good, same time frame and scedule another good thing.

Really, so you can just be a lesser clone of the Vics?

Now, there's something to aspire to.

It's not like the states other than Vic will be genuine conferences, is it?

There will simply be one dominant "conference" and four other significantly lesser ones.

All good if you live and play in Vic!

But really, what changes, a bit of window dressing? And the Vics march on.

The point is to even the conferences out.

Lesser clone? Do some research on the players in the leagues.

It's not as simple as just giving it over. What happens with clubs who have major sponsorships that conflict with NBL sponsors? Do they get paid out? Do they get ongoing payments? I think it'll get done but it will be nothing more than the logo appearing on the uniforms. QBL is a fantastic product and league and you don't just hand the keys over cause you think changing a logo will have this huge effect for the clubs. It will have a big effect for the NBL with every club essentially in Australia under the NBL banner. Oh and most likely data bases I imagine. The question is what's in it for the clubs? You guys crack me up throwing the keys to the car before even hearing the proposal.

The benefit will be having a national championship again.

If that's the main reason then it won't get up. Needs to be a real/actual benefit to the club.

If they look at what rebranding has done for vic/tas, they wouldnt hesitate.
Every other state would be stupid not to convert to nbl1.
Sure it will take sometime for the conferences to level out, but they will eventually.

I know one association that has had a 400% increase in attendance.
If you look at the streams, there are some real decent crowds, a lot more than seabl in the last few years.

Absolutely, give it 50, no probably more like 100 years, and those conferences will even out!

Queenslanders hoping for the best and doing a great job of deluding themselves. The rest with a more realistic understanding of where they stand.

Open your eyes, this is all about Victoria maintaining and increasing their place of prominence and not caring about the rest of Australia. BV, LK, Vic clubs and Vic government all looking after Victorian interests.

Lol, he's a business man, of course he wants to bring it australia wide, what value is in it if he’s just lookin after victoria solely.
Some people... the guy is trying to bring all states together and makebthenpathwaysveasier for all and people are not interested because....?

Qbls late start and shorter season is more appealing for those who play euroball. Will lose this talent if you move to nbl1 schedule.

I think nbl1 has been flexible if you look at the ins and outs of players.

This doesn't help the QBL at all. Helps the NBL and if they can put something in it other than the word "NBL" in the title then they may get it over the line. Easy to conquer busy leagues like NSW, SA and WA.
