Woodville Premier League Women’s Coach Announcement

The Woodville District Basketball Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul La Mott to the position of Head Coach, Women's Premier League. Paul will oversee the Premier League and Reserves competition and is actively working to fill next season's team roster and coaching staff.

Originally from Southern California, Paul and his family moved to Adelaide one year ago and are permanent residents of Australia. He is married to wife Julee and together they have five children- Mackenzi, Spencer, Preston, Tanner and Danica and one Grandson- Mateo.

Paul has a background in both business and coaching. He earned his Bachelor's in Physical Education from California Lutheran University and an MBA in Organizational Leadership from Ashford University. After a successful playing career in college, Paul played for 2 seasons as an import for the Shepparton Gators in Victoria, where he was named to the All-Star Five in his second season.

Paul continued his passion for basketball and moved into coaching. As a coach, Paul has coached at all levels, namely as the Head Coach at Bigfork High School and as the Lead Assistant at the University of La Verne. Most recently, he was the Division 1 coach for Woodville's U16 boys program.

In addition to coaching, Paul has been helping student-athletes seeking to play sports in college for the past 7 years. He continues to do so today through his company, AUS Sport Recruiting.

Paul has a strong focus on teaching, development, mentoring and recruiting. In an initial statement Paul said his focus is to create a culture of toughness and accountability - setting the foundation to attract the best talent possible thus increasing the team and club's profile whilst also fostering a positive, inclusive environment and improved development of the junior program.

Paul is very excited and honoured to be at the helm of Woodville’s Women Premier League program and is looking to continue to build on the foundation that has been set.
