How much money do you think Townsville has? haha no chance any of them come.

Townsville has the smallest budget of all the north teams an probably most south teams now too

Mirko is also rumoured to stay in Cairns...which has been their MO.

Zero chance Kay returns to Townsville! There is absolutely nothing there for him!

Mirko maybe but far more likely to be at Marlins, as the Taipans hold their guy to randsome and don't pay them unless they stay all the way up to June 30.

Mitch Norton is the only one with a half decent chance because his family are in Townsville so may want some home cooked meals, but also likes to travel in the offseason and not play.

When do the NSW teams come into the NBL1?

When any of the clubs in NSW have the money or desire to actually field a competitive team in the greater scheme of NBL1

The SA league has better players/depth and probably more cash than the clubs in the waratah

Interesting. What does the club expect its players to do during the period March to June? Clinics?

There is no money in the Waratah league, it's all part timers. It’s so far behind the other states.

"When any of the clubs in NSW have the money or desire to actually field a competitive team in the greater scheme of NBL1"

Some of the clubs in NSW have both the money and the desire and had been actively lobbying for entry. Held back by NSW Basketball and some Sydney teams who are not financially able and would prefer to continue to stay in a sub standard competition. NSW Basketball beholden to older Metro clubs who lack vision and energy to move with the times. Will see many locals looking to move away to play NBL1, which is a shame.

All state leagues to be NBL1 this coming season. Plus an ABA style Championship end of season tournament.

NSW suppose to be NBL1 2021.

They need to do lot to get the clubs up to scratch to make it a decent competition otherwise they will always be behind the other states.

Not sure what the other states pay to be in it but as usual NSW wacked the fees up big time and expected the clubs to support it and it did not happen.

We have Waratah One, NBL1 North already named. I'll guarantee all states are on board for 2020.
