JK wasn't cut out for managing a company and whispers were that a relative didn’t like his money being pissed away for nothing.

Doubt FE returns. Saw their dealings at a school competition and the way they were going about business was completely amateur.

This isn't a rumour, someone was following Justin’s LinkedIn. He says he is leaving first ever and going to private equity for a new gig. First ever likely will stay, this is how Kestleman hopes to make the league profitable or at least breakeven for him, create assets which league owners and clubs are semi gouged to use.

Is Fiddes still around?

Let's see. Yep. Wow, they even do kicks:

https://fiddes.com.au/product/elite-footwear/

Maybe low sales of the shoe range was what caused Giants v2 to be the cheap-and-nasty'iest NBL team of all time.

Monopoly situation and cant make money. That's a great sign for the league.

Why are they a monopoly? Over what? Selling NBL stuff?

That's hardly a big revenue situation.

There stuff is actually not bad, getting better every year. Takes along time to establish a clothing brand.

First ever isn't a clothing brand. They are an apparel supplier/manufacturer.

They have a licencing deal with the NBL.

The quality of their gear isn't one of kind. It's pretty standard stuff.

People shitting on the First Ever brand need a reality check - if LK can't make money from the vertical opportunities surrounding the league, he most likely will stop burning cash into it. And good luck finding another league saviour when the last potential pathway to profitability is shown to be non viable.

So if you want another brand as the apparel supplier, be prepared for a return to the dark days of the NBL.

First Ever costs the league money. Apparel sponsor brings sponsorship dollars.

" if LK can't make money from the vertical opportunities surrounding the league, he most likely will stop burning cash into it. "

But I thought he saved the league and all the clubs had licences to print money now. Are you saying that might no be true?

I don't understand why the hate for First Ever. Okay, the ads were annoying. Their general apparel sucks. But I think the jerseys have been pretty good overall, and definitely better than any other options we;ve had over the past 20 years.

The Jerseys are shite. Ordered one and after one wash had things peeling off

In the NBL sphere it has disappeared though.

agree. shit, annoying ads but the jerseys are fine. it's a sublimated dye Jersey, pretty hard to screw up.

If you've got things peeling off after a couple of washes talk to your mum and ask her to show you how to use a washing machine.

Duh.
Pretty hard to get a gig when the owners son has the contract and was giving away uni sets for FREE! Including NBL1.

What about the 15 years (conservative estimate) pre-LK? They haven't had a NBL presence for a long time so not sure why anyone would be offended at someone asking the question if they still exist - unless you're from the business.

#790780 Lol the First Ever jerseys are exactly the same as Mitchell and Ness jerseys. They are made by Mitchell & Ness supplier. FE had an agreement to have M&N source them.

The quality of FE jerseys this season are poorer than last. Thinner material. They've obviously made a decision to cut costs by producing a cheaper product. Not the same as what Mitchell & Ness was.

#794 well their supplier for 2019-20 is worse then the one they had in 2017-18.

FE are using Mitchel and Ness to make the jerseys anyway. They forced them into a manufacturing deal with all their branding.
