NBL confirms three-year Kings deal for Angus Glover

Wonder if the Hawks had a chance to keep him. Looked like a great prospect pre-injury. Might've been spooked before the sale of the Hawks or wanted to move to Sydney?

I think his girlfriend plays with the flames, so makes sense.

His girlfriend playing for the flames the article says. Weaver is going to play a run and gun side, point guard and all players being able to switch on D and lane runners.

I like this line up for kings
Import, Bruce
Glover, DJ
Didi, Newley
Moller, Kickett
Cooks, Hunter.
Leave an import for injuries and see what shakes out overseas with other leagues. Very good team for future, probably not in contention straight away, though you never know with youth.

How many minutes/points does he average for the Kings in NBL21?

^ And Cooks at the 5, that will be entertaining.

Must be part of the "All player can switch on D" strategy

Not sure it's the best year to keep an import slot open for injury replacements. Likely to take a while to get any replacement in the country and out of quarantine...

Sorry to see him go, but i suspect the Kings threw good money at him, he likes Will Weaver and I wouldn't be surprised if because of his friendship with Flinny, he didn't like the way his former coach got shafted.

Good luck to him. he's a great guy and a bloody talented player. At the end if the day he chose a well credentialed coach on a potential championship side, 1.5 hours from home. Hard to blame him.

Good to see the Kings putting in some thought for the future...

Starting Glover, Moller AND Cooks at the 5? Someone is definitely smoking something in quarantine... Has anyone suggesting Cooks at the 5 ever stood next to the kid? I really don't get where this is coming from...

Also, haven't we had enough of including Kickert in teams yet? The fact that last season seemed to be the most he has bought in defensively says more about how bad he was in all his previous seasons...

Thought for the future? By signing players developed by other clubs?

Name one player they've developed for the future? Their attempts at Tom Wilson sum up the kings succinctly.

Money. Money. Money.

Cooks started at the five in his season in Germany, rotated between 4-5. At 6' 9" is on the shorter side but his athletic abilities could work fine. He actually plays more like a 5 and even in the nba 5 men are getting quicker and shorter.

Thought for the future? By signing players developed by other clubs?

By signing a young player that by all accounts, is a top quality individual, works hard and is talented and can get better...

I'm by no means a Kings flag waver anymore, but that sounds like a smart move... Hopefully this bunch of owners/coaches is better than they've had in the past, as you're right, Tom Wilson is NOT a good example of past attempts by past coaching staff (that I was highly critical of at the time anyways)

ps - I have mixed emotions about Glover leaving for up the highway as the Hawks DID put a lot of faith in him with his injuries, but that loyalty would most likely be tied to the personnel there, and none of them are left, are they?
