Good luck to him but it shows you still need a lot more skill to play basketball. Hopefully he takes the few dollars and doesn't regret it.

That's why we should have a npp team in each nbl1 conference, half the guys that go to coe get offered afl contracts.

And most don't make it. The afl media machine is very strong.

As long as they are pulling away the odd baller here, the odd baller there, they are happy.

NOOOO. Bad move for basketball, bad move for athletes.

046 why would clubs want their players to go play in NPP in that political, underachieving cesspool of coaches failing at life, basketball and their own career.

Players could be forced to play there to their longer term detriment as happen often now with guys being forced in to NPP practices. Don't put systems in place which dis-empower athletes, put systems and processes in place that empower them to make informed, educated decisions in their own interest.

An outstanding human being, was progressing really well as a baller. Best of luck to him.

He was barely playing on a weak Hawaii squad despite being 7foot. Unless he had some sort of miracle development into his Junior and Senior years there was no way he was making the NBL.
If Richmond are paying, was probably a good move to take the $$$

I don't follow AFL much so not sure what kind of money a category B rookie can earn in a season.
Bound to be more than NBL1 which looked to be his basketball trajectory.

Nbl rookie get 20g, afl b category around 65g-70g. Better than basketball but you are not retiring on it.

Could be a few guys come back to basketbal" if they don't perform in afl.

The list is like currently 25 deep atm, guys wholeft state level ball to afl at 18.

Very hard to come back to basketball after playing afl for a few years, it's only happened the one time I believe.

Nice work from Colina as wasn't playing in the NBL at best a solid NBL1 player but more than likely the level below that!

You see guys like Ben Allan, Mitch Young have good careers at Saint Mary's and win 25 games every year of their career and then they come back to the NBL and sit of the end of the bench or are out of the league in a few years. What makes anyone think this guy is a loss for basketball based on his previous body of work?
