I think all of the teams are offering "hub" membership packages (Boomers are $60) which gives you 2 months kayo subs, so its a way to support your club and see the games. I've got a Boomers membership for the first time this season

These three players are always injured, even one of the commentators passed a comment I think re Tupaea, she's been injured every season, and Tolo still on limited minutes , same as last season

Yeah, the Lynx were a mess but I'm not too surprised. There's no way that Burrows starting would have been anywhere near our plans for this season. Ciabattoni being hurt did help either because composure is one of her strengths and we lacked that badly yesterday.
It was as if that guy doing the commentary was completely unfamiliar with any of the players, but someone was teaching him along the way because names he was butchering in the first half were mostly ok by the end of the game.

I can kinda forgive our offense being bit of a shambles in game 1, but there's less excuse defensively. Will be interesting to see how rapidly the coaches & players can adjust in this compressed season. Pressure is already on them now.

I gave Cam the benefit of the doubt last night after what I thought was a very average effort but put it down to maybe nerves or something. That Michelle drove me crazy as well. After tonight, I think perhaps Cam is just not cut out for commentating. The guy that did the Flames/Boomers game with Jenni Screen was good.

Southside and Boomers tonight should be a good game, looking forwards to the match ups of both starters and bench, just hope Molloy uses his bench, he's not known for it, but he's going to have to start using all 12 players if he wants his team to make it to the end, this will be a good test. regardless of outcome, I think both these teams will be in finals

Despite not knowing how to pronounce 'Blicavs' or 'Schwagmeyer', Tom Maher is a godsend in commentary. He actually makes constructive criticisms of players instead of the bland approach we hear from others.

Yeah, not a fan of Maher either. Maybe in a three-man booth, but not as the only color guy.

To me it was just how rare and brief his insights were, and then the inane filler he came up with when he seemed to feel like it'd been too long since he'd said anything. Which is why I feel like he might work better in a three man booth. They can have another guy there to carry most of the load and let Maher fill in as he deems appropriate.

Just about everything Maher said was either an explanation about how a player was bad, what she did was wrong, or what he would do differently as coach. It's amazing for someone with as much knowledge as him, he had surprisingly little insight, and yet talked so much.

I'm all for criticism, especially since the norm has been non-stop hyping up from the commentary team - when everything is supposedly "great/amazing", nothing really is. Unfortunately, Maher just comes across as a fossil.

I'd probably love to chat with him in a coaching capacity, but not listen to him as a commentator. That's just me though.

On a positive note: his co-commentator was very professional.

Agree re Tom. Voice less than inspiring, which sadly could see him cut, I guess, but I'd hope not, since his comments were genuine and insightful.

Hopefully a few coaches and players will have a listen, or at least be made aware of what he was saying.

He gave an experienced international coaches opinion during his commentary- personally thought it was a good insight.
