LiAngelo Ball signs contract with Detroit pistons

Illawarra should've signed him last year. He's better than those horrible imports they signed in the back half of last season.

Whatever you think of Lavar, collectively they've managed to get two of the brothers drafted top three, and the third with some level of NBA contract. Not bad.

Or maybe just highlights that a lot of NBA people have no idea. Said at the time that Dante Exum's agent pulled off one of the biggest con jobs in NBA history. Time has proven that correct.

As with credit to Lavar, credit to Exum's agent. In neither case is the onus on them to make sure clubs get deals that favour them. Each club has every right to not sign before seeing a player worked out or played at a certain level.

Theyre desperate to sell some tickets or a couple jerseys for the memes.

Guy was signed as a traffic cone for OKC's G League affiliate to run around at training..... so theres zero chance he plays. He wouldnt dominate a state league in Australia....... let alone NBL.

The same Detroit that signs 2 role players in Grant and Plumlee to stupid contracts with Grant wanting to be more than what he is, a great role player.
2 of the worst franchises now have a Ball!

That's a blast from the past Zodiac.
Was it Master P or someone like that

Master P played a summer league game or two for Charlotte back in the day. And by 'played', it was literally a few minutes.

From what I can remember of reports, he was actually a decent baller, but was given the opportunity as more of a favour than anything.

Detroit saw the steals he got in China and thought he'd be a good defender.

#440 and punters around here think he should be picked for Australia. It's nice to have friends in high places.

Fake news. Turns out Detroit advertised for a Ball boy, LiAngelo got a little bit confused and didn't read job description.

I remember when Washington drafted Muggsy Bogues 12th overall as more of a marketing stunt to pair him with the NBA's tallest ever player (at the time) in Manute Bol than as a genuine draft pick.

Yes, he could play and had a very good career, but that was the added bonus to the marketing stunt

He was ALL-ACC as a senior in college. Pretty sure he wasn't drafted as a marketing stunt.

Umm Muggsy himself has been quoted as confirming that he believed Washington drafted him as a marketing stunt to pair him with Bol, more than anything.
