Ryan Broekhoff waived by 76ers

Thought he might've been a useful piece given his shooting.

Saw a tweet comparing it to Doc Rivers' lack of interest in Joe Ingles when he was with the Clippers.

Unfortunately he was always considered a long shot to make the roster.

Don't see why he wouldn't consider Australia? He missed the bubble because his wife was sick or was at high risk if she contracted covid and he also has a young kid. Some G league teams aren't even going to play and Europe is pretty bad for covid right now. Why not come home play a season here get some good minutes in then try to make the Boomers team. Seems reasonable to me.

Wildcats should go after him.
Yes they need a centre but when Cotton's citizenship comes through they can get a centre.

Norton
Cotton
Broekhoff
Blanchfield
Mooney

White
Swaka Lo Buluk
Steindl
Bairstow
Wagstaff.

Still undersized but an import big will make a difference.
Cut Bairstow when import is available.

Loaded with three point shooters, plenty of small ball lineups.

NZ with Broekhoff

T Webster
R Broekhoff
L Patterson
F Delaney
C Iverson.

With C Webster off the bench, looking good.

lets be real here Broekhoff most likely will get a decent contract in Europe, most of the teams are filled up as well in the NBL even if he would be a good addition

At his age with a new family member and a wife with health issues, my bet is the nbl.

Given Perth on size, wouldn't one cut White before Bairstow?

And this is me setting aside my dislike for White.

I don't see big name aussies as an option for no breakers.

Perth Sydney Melbourne SEM etc would snap them up first

If Broekhoff signed with the Breakers that would be possibly the best Breakers squad of all-time and there have been some great Breakers teams in the past ten years.

Kay or Reath would be great.

Unless they have been "waiting" for him, I can't see the Wildcats forking out the cash needed.
Whether the simply spent the farm on Cotton, or whether they are saving up for another big signing when he naturalises, they seem to have been "economising". I can't imagine Mooney, Blanchfield, and White would be commanding the money of the guys they replaced.

Not saying Dr Jack hasn't got the coin, or that they won't spend big on another player, I just don't see it being Broekhoff.

Would have been awesome to see him signed instead of Blanch, but too late for that.

Kay coming off the bench lately, still playing around 20 minutes, his side is dead last in Spanish top league. Reath side doing well but he's playing little even when leading by big scores.

So Kay, an MVP contender in the NBL, plays around half a game for the worst team in the league and people still cling to the NBL being the second best league in the world?

Up until recently Kay was one of the competition's leading rebounders, so yes he is very capable at that level. Melo Trimble is also the ACB's leading scorer.

I'm not sure anyone bar the NBL's PR team thinks it is the second best league in the world, the NBA and Euroleague clearly own the top two spots, but it is very much in the equation for the next couple of spots after that.

Spain is probably the best country competition after the nba, euro league amongst all top euro nations even better. Hard being a team first player as an import in Europe. Trimble is doing good in a weak team but playing to his natural style, score first mentality which suits his team as there main goal is to avoid relegation.
