Sam Gruggen joins Kings as assistant coach

Sam Gruugan has left BNSW to be an Asst Coach with the Kings.

Didn't think he would stay around long at BNSW and would be crawling to the right people to get this gig.

Lets see how long it last.He had a stint at Townsville until they folded.

Yes,;isch would have been ideal.

Also Shaun Rodgers left the Kings because nothing happened that he wanted and is with the Hawkes.Maybe he should have stayed there.

These young egos think they have it.

This late in season who is available that isn't already contracted to another team? Besides pretty sure he’s the 3rd assistant behind James Duncan and Kevin Lisch

Not hard to tell a lot of Sydney local coaches in this one hurt that kings didn't hire them

Maybe they weren't good enough? Gruggan isn't a good choice either.

Does this mean he will still coach the Inner West Bulls or will he leave them, seems Inner West has quite a bit of influence of Sydney King personnel staff and player wise

Why do you think he went from Comets to Inner West Bulls to coach because of the link with the Kings through Bulls money People

Shaun Rodgers worked at BNSW and then went to the Kings doing school development and was probably hoping to pick up an Asst Coach role with them.

When that did not happen and Jacob Jakomas became the Hawkes Asst Coach,Rodgers new him from Comets days where they both coached and then he ended up at the Hawkes as well.

All the pieces of the puzzles fall into place.

What is Forde's connection to inner west? I would assume he picked his assistants

Forde would be relying on people around him re his assistants. Gruggen will be fine if he just does reviews and third wheel stuff. Lisch is in most training photos so must still have a connection.

I would have thought the Bulls would have more pull at the Hawks than the kings
