SEM v SYD Mar 6

Sykes is out by Adnam went off like a frog in a blender last game, so will certainly not get the room he enjoyed before. Plenty of reasons for either team to get the W, but with the Kings 4-0 over the Phoenix thus far, can they make it 5-0? They hiccuped against the snakes, and I think the mean lean green machine may just twist the knife in a close game

IF Adman can continue his meteoric performances while Sykes is out and keeps starring after Sykes' return, SEM would have to reconsider their imports for next, and even future seasons.

Import guards mostly seem to be (quite a bit) better than our local guards and consequently, most teams spend big on getting their guards right. Still think that Sykes superior to Adman but 1 outing (so far) and Adman showed that with more of that sort of progress over the remainder of this season, Adman may be "good enough" as your starter. Then, SEM spend on what-ever weakness they identify with their roster. Even if it's a cheap, back-up import for Adman. A second cheap(er) import back-up for the 3 spot may suffice which would look like this.

Adman / Next Star or Import / Stephens
Broeckoff / Gliddon
Creek / Next Star or Import / Le afa
Wetzell / Te Rangi / Forsyth
Import / Pineau

Damn fine 2nd unit there too with 2 (off-the-bench) imports, Gliddon, Pineau, and Te Rangi or Stephens.

That would be rotation of 11 players (+ Gibbo, if still there).

Sykes is awesome, Adman has truely shone once, the above is "What if" Adman continues THAT sort of form for most, even all of the rest of the season. And remember, that as soon as Sykes is healthy, he gets back his minutes and Adman goes back to bench(?). Hope they find a way to play both for extended mins but unlikely, especially with Broeckoff in the line-up.

Le'afa is a PG. But the rest of your point stands. I’m not convinced this is the real Adnam just yet.

It's time Sydney play Kickett like Walker last season, sparingly, he’s not the future. Till Martin is back run Hunter, Vadonovic threw the 5, Moller, Newley through the 4, Didi, Newley through the 3, rotate Ware, Dejan, Bruce through the guard spots, keep it simple. Kings long shot at finals, partly due to injuries and first year coaches take time to adjust. That’s an 8 man rotation.

SEM are dangerous and talented but Sydney have fought hard all season, adnam v his former team mate Ware will be good. Creek as usual will be the go to guy and Wetzell is slightly more mobile than Hunter so it slightly favours SEM. Who will stop Dejan, Gliddon has the tools. SEM to win in a another close loss for Sydney.

I think realistically Sydney will start losing games in bunches now. Not trying to be negative but their lineup is basically Casper Ware and a Rookie in Vasiljevic. After that they have three starters who came off the bench last year. hunter barely played behind Bogut. Vodanovich dumped by NZ picked up as injury replacement playing more mins then he ever had. Then Newley and Kickert look very old and struggling with so many games back to back.

Add an inexperienced coach and an underperforming next star.

I'm calling it now, they going to go on a 6-7 game losing streak unless Jarell Martin and Xavier Cooks are back early

Sem have been competitive without Sykes, Pineau and Gibbo then add Broekhoff too and they'll be a serious contender

What got into Forde head to play the dp, the second quarters have been killing the kings and he runs a dp, didn't cost them this time but was still a bad quarter. Kings are competitive, SEM missing there point guard hurt.

Are we even going to see Pineau this season? If so, when?

I reckon recruiting Vasiljevic has turned out to be a master-stroke for the Kings. Not only is he scoring almost at will, he's also taking a lot of the heat off Ware and Newley.
I think he’s taken Sydney from middle of the pack to almost certain Finalists.

And I’d put him close behind Giddey for RotY, perhaps even include him in an NBL-based Boomers team already.
