PER v NZB Mar12

An amazing buzzer beater by Abba was the coldest of daggers into the Taipans' heart. A good, solid win tonight for Perf would almost lock in top prizemoney for the cup. Being such a low budget team, Perf could really use the money to get themselves out of poverty and return to generous lashings of Beluga caviar and Pol Roger. Abba out of daggers, Perf gets the cup in the baggers.

This will be a monumental effort if the Breakers can keep this close for four quarters.

I think Perth have this one, Breakers just a bit out gunned and will be starting to fatigue. Breakers however will like the smaller roster of Perth which has been a hole for the Breakers having only one strong 5.

It's an uphill battle for the Breakers for sure, but I'm not ruling them out. SEM showed earlier this week that when you're stretched you can still win if someone like Creek or Abercrombie leads the way.

Apparently Gleeson has news on Cotton becoming a Aussie, meant to be having some sort of pod interview with Lachy today I think?

Oh yeah, Perth need to take this, just need to lock down Tai and we should be good.

Has the club given any indication how long Corey is out for? Originally they said it wasn't serious, but he’s missed 2 games now, and was clearly playing injured in the United game.

No statement regarding Corey from what I have seen. I don't really see why they would hide it if it was serious, it would affect ticket sales if it was home games, but they don't really have any.

While Corey is a fantastic player, I also believe he would not make it easy for medical staff as he is a bit different at times.

I wouldn't be surprised if a new import heads over in the upcoming weeks to tick off quarantine and be match ready for when Cotton naturalises.

So what position does the new import play? I've heard others on here say that the Cats could use another guard to help Cotton, but surely they go for a PF?

It would have to be a starting C or PF. Mooney is playing out of position at the moment so getting a C would help. But you could also argue that Mooney is playing really well at C so getting a starting PF to replace Travers/Bairstow would be the better option.

I guess it depends on who is available. I think they had planned on Plumlee but the delay has changed things there.

Breakers can't afford to miss free throws nor get careless with the ball if they’re hoping to sneak a win.

WTF is the obsession with NZ foul count. It's only 8 fouls in a half and Abercrombie with 2 fouls at half time isn't 'in foul trouble'.
Just STFU.

The only positive from that coaches challenge was that the score stood and it was Breakers ball. I envisaged the score being cancelled and a jump ball.

Breakers are tough. Took a big third from Perth to win the game with Blanchfield streaky as usual. But Perth's next defence is next level. They unsettled Webster early with their physicality. Their scout on Iverson was also good with the back door cuts.

Perth are a good team and well coached too. They run the right sets for the right people and at the right time. Blanchfield got hot and they found him the ball. Last season against the Breakers I saw them do similar with Steindl. You then add the best scorer in the league and the best rebounder and it's tough to beat. But it would be great to see them play a full strength Breakers.

[Conveniently ignores United got to play SEM missing Sykes, Pineau, Gibbo and Broekhoff.....and lost.]

United lost in OT while missing Hopson and White

Meanwhile Perth played SEM minus 3 of those 4 guys.... and got done by 31.

They then played SEM minus all 4 guys and won by a point
