Helms wins POTW

Ok, so this isn't one of the most difficult predictions of all time, but Helms can look forward to his first POTW award.

Helms led the Pirates to their fourth and fifth road wins in club history, coming away with a rare double win on the Sunshine Swing.

Helms had 42 points Wednesday against the Crocs and backed up with a near triple double against the Taipans with a game high 27 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists.

Sounds like the Pirates have picked up a real champ, can't wait to see him at the Dome!

Their other import, Odell Bradley had barely any time in that second game. If the Pirates have any money, they'd surely look to cut him. The Breakers would have to consider dumping Rich Melzer too.

and for his 42 point game and leading the Pirates to 2-0 against 'once predicted contenders in the pre-season' in Townsville and Cairns.... (both great road wins for any team)

Game v Crocs: 42 points, 5 board and 3 assists

Game v Deadpans: 27 points, 10 boards and 5 assists.

no doubt Helms should win it this round

unlucky for A. Ballinger, with 39 points (70%), 17 rebounds (and a few other stats).. that would usually win it easily any other week

Ballinger had 6 at half time, i think he scored something like 24 in the 3rd quarter!

20 in the 3rd, 13 in the 4th. 33 point 2nd half. Pretty crazy. Shot at 70% for the game, too.

Still, Helms is my bet for POTW.

Helms should win it

Another good performance would be Stephen Black....... had 30 for the Bullets against Adelaide even though it still wasn't enough to get the Win.

Blackie went 11-of-17 from the field including 6-of-9 from the arc.
as well as 4 reb, 8 assists and 3 steals

The Previous night against the Tigers he went 9 of 17 FG, 3-4 3pt FG, 3 reb, 7 ass, 1 steal
