All NBL 1st and 2nd teams

We're well into the 2nd half of the season.

My selections:

1st team to date:

Landale
Mooney
Sobey
Cotton
Casper

2nd team to date:

Johnson
Creek
Harvey
T.Webster
Machado

How long is Tai Webster out?

Still plenty of time for the likes of McCarron, CG43, Giddey, Oliver or Blanchfield to press their cases.

Other like Vasiljevic, Humphries, Sykes, Law, Hopson and C Webster can count themselves unlucky due to injuries. Humphries put in some killer games, looking like a future Boomer big before going down, with great rim protection. Hopson started slowly but showed promising form for a few games then injury struck on two separate occasions. Sykes and C Webster have looked good. But probably all these players have missed too many games and will miss out to those who manage a full season.

Ware will probably be in the first team backcourt but he'd be the worst first team pick for a long time.

First team
Cotton
Sobey
McCarron
Mooney
Humphries

Ware
Machado
Landale
Creek
Giddey

Oliver
Harvey
DJ
Tai
Sykes

Most will turn a nose as McCarron but I value you him more than most.
Humphries was a monster pre-injury and he'll be a beast when he returns in a week or two. Sykes similar, looked incredible, should return to that.
Giddey is second team for mine. Arguably the best PG in the league ahead of Machado.
Wanted to put DJ second team but Creek has been great regardless of situation.

There are some seasons the teams just pick themselves. This season, it's harder to pick that a broken nose

I'd have Creek in over Sobey, he's been the best SF in the league and SEM have a better record than Brisbane.

Flip a coin with PG, they've all been ok, with no clear standout imo.

I wouldn't be looking past any of these names:

Cotton, Sobey, Harvey, Landale, Creek, Mooney

Ware wouldn't get a look in a Sunday mile against the above.

A good second team could be constructed from a variety of players.

Take out Harvey and I think that's your 5.

Creek is definitely more of an inside player. Well he could be depending on how court case goes.

Most posters selecting first fives made up of fringe Boomers and imports. Sounds about right.

Ware is garbage. The least clutch superstar in years. Puts up a bunch of empty stats but disappears when it comes time to win a close game. Putting him anywhere near an all-NBL team is laughable.

Mooney, Landale, Creek, Sobey and Cotton are the stand-outs regardless of how many inside/outside players they normally go with.

The second and third teams might be very uncertain but anyone else in the first team would be unfair on these 5.

I have been far more impressed with Law, Martin and Maybe even Humphries than Landale (he doesn't need to do as much for his team) but due to injury I feel that Landale will be all NBL first team along with Mooney, Cotton, Sobey and I think Harvey.

I think in other seasons we would have Vasiljevic and jessup as potential first team players but Sobey has been consistently clutch and taken that from them, as for Harvey, watching Illawarra play without him is proof of how good he is and he isn't your stereotypical good scorer on a bad team.

I don't understand the love for Ware as I think he doesn't get his team mates involved enough (imagine Machado with the depth of Kings players around him)
