Apparently Alex Starling was reported and thrown out of last nights NBL1 Central game at Mt Barker. Anyone see what happened?

Allegedly walked into opposition huddle
Allegedly scuffle (predictably) broke out
Allegedly struck opponent in face with clenched fist
Allegedly gets sorry ass ejected
Of course innocent until proven guilty, but allegedly already booked a 3 week fishing trip to Kangaroo Island.

Actually walked to his bench, as all players were and crossed.
Actually was hit first, hence USF on Eastern player.
Minor retaliation which referees have major over reacted to.
DQ by 2 old out of their depth refs and a young ref with a chip on his shoulder because his mates are going somewhere and he never will. Didn't care all night. In their defence 2 of them had to do both games.
Will be tossed out before going anywhere, South have the best lawyer in the state on side. BSA will give in, if they haven't already. And none of the refs or the Eastern player will be punished.

Maybe it's the new Mavs culture - bait the opposition and get them chucked out. Only way to win. You would think that Rojo wouldn't be too happy with this surrounding the club. Not a good look for the juniors watching.

It's a punch to the face. The worst incident in the league since Ridgeway vs Hawkes. At a minimum, and I mean minimum, it’s a month on the sideline for Starling.

We'll see if "The NBL1 Show" will cover it or not even address it cause all they want to do is talk about Forestville & Harris. Can they profile other good players in the league than just him - believe it or not there are a few. I think Megan Hustwaite is an absolute joke commentating on the league - absolutely terrible. Isn't that the point of having footage? To show them so they know whether they fucked up or not? He'll at least get a fair go at a tribunal with objective evidence which has far more integrity than you clearly do!

How do you know who was involved or not? They have younger refs tagging along to games all the time. And how do you know what was being shown or spoken about? Assuming by post game you don't mean broadcast to the grandstand on a TV so you're either a ref who was in there or a sooky South supporter. Either way, show some integrity and keep your nose out of places you have clearly (by your rule knowledge) no place being. The footage isn't a secret given the whole game is live streamed and if they did get it wrong they'll have at least been shown immediately.

Just watched replay. Souths smashing them 33-16 at qtr time. Mavs hit some big 3's in start of 2nd qtr, and then Rig hits a 3pt to get margin back to 10. Timeout called and Starling is just walking towards his huddle. Rig purposely walks into Starling and bumps him for no reason, there was no provocation or anything. As you would Starling reacts and shoves him and just keeps walking. Some are saying a punch but hard to tell from vision, but didn't look like much. Rig deserved it for making contact in the first place. And then the Macs players are carrying on like dicks while South go to the huddle, when they were the ones who started everything.
Everyone would react after having an opposition player walk into them intentionally for no reason other than to get a reaction. Bad form from the Mavs.
One of the refs was in a good spot and looks like he saw things happen, the other two refs wouldn't have seen anything, one was picking the ball up and the other was at other end of court on the opposite side.

Rigby's head snaps to the side pretty quick. It's a little more than a shove and it's definitely not in the chest. DQ is probably the correct penalty overall. But we will see I guess.

Rigby yes provoked the entire thing - what he does best! However this is why he got the UF. Starling punched him in the face hence the DQF. You can barely see it on the video but being at the game - you could see it clearly that Starling gave him a good shot. Mavs need a really good wake up call and Rojo needs to rip them a new one to morally get their acts together.

Starling could've walked around, he chose to walk through which is provocative and disrespectful.
Aktanarowicz got a young team around him and if he doesn’t make a stand then he basically saying it’s ok for people to keep walking all over us
Gotta start somewhere
Say why you want about Rig but when everyone takes a step back, he takes 2 forward
That’s why his team love him

Starling walked directly to his bench. What a load of rubbish he could have walked around. Rigby could have walked around also using that mentality. Players cross paths every game and there are no incidents. This occurred because Rigby went out of his way to shoulder Starling. If he doesn't do that, nothing happens. He hit a 3, felt like a hero and started the whole thing.

And that is why this team will go 0-18. It started last week when Coach Rojo (I use that term loosely), didn't even get out of the first quarter of the first game and wore a tech. Brilliant leadership, brilliant example.

sorry how does Rig deserve a punch in the face, your theory would mean 40 AFL players per game should be punched in the face, every coach in the league would talk about Rig in the scout and clearly point out the fact he will try and deliberately intimidate a reaction , Starling fell for it, hook line and sinker

Mavs culture continues to be a huge issue. Rojo is an extremely loose unit with abuse of refs a long standing behaviour problem of his. Poor form by all involved regardless of what club. Starling should and will get games, but Rigby should also cop a penalty.

Absolutely impartial, but that move by Ridgeway deserved a suspension, absolutely stupid of him to even put himself in that position and cost his team by not playing. Don't think it galvanised the team, heard most of his teammates were mad that he did it in first place and thought he deserved the suspension. Galvanised maybe in that players thought odds were against them in losing an import, but not that BSA were against him.

I guess the tribunal has made it acceptable for this behaviour in NBL1 but not in juniors. But don't juniors look up to these NBL1 players.

Why does the tribunal have to explain? what message would it send if he got 0 weeks, 8 weeks, 20 weeks. Unless you were there and saw it happen in which case I am sure the tribunal based decision of eye witness accounts, especially seeing occured directly in front of refs.
