Illawarra v Cairns May 23

Illawarra like the look of fourth spot and a good win over the Snakes today might be enough to give them some breathing space. Someone was saying Gorj hasn't missed playoffs in 20 seasons as a coach. Well, we better give him the key to the door because it looks like it will be 21 out of 21.

Cairns have struggled on the road this season with a solitary win to their credit. I'm not sure they'll add to that today.

Isaac White is playing all right and Tim Coenraad looks like he is looking for a contract with the grasshoppers. Illawarra to get the W

Illawarra lost both their marquee players and it meant SFA, you know Goorj you have done it again. Hawks by 12 and give the bench players a fair run. Disappointed in Kelly's recruitment, yes they do not have much money but some of there players are worse than lot nbl1 players.

Staggering stuff.

Kelly has kept this team competitive, it's a credit to him. It would be nice to see an investor with plenty coin invest in Cairns.

Goorj and Gleeson are amazing.

Goorj has had three imports and a fringe NBA player for most of the season and has barely made the playoffs. Not that impressive really

Goorj deserves recognition for where he has taken that team.

Their top 2 Australians were basically out for the whole and half a season respectively.

Would anyone like to guess how :

- Melbourne would go losing Landale for the whole year and Goulding for half?
- Adelaide would go if we lost Humphries for thw whole year and DJ for half?

He has got life out of AJ (something 2 coaches before him couldn't), Froling has flourished, as has Jessup.

Jessop has between anything from ordinary to stunning. Inconsistent. Harvey has an ordinary game and all say "he had an ordinary game." Jessop has one and very few comments. Almost like most of us expect both ends of the spectrum with Jessop.

IMO, Jessop may have not actually improved here, just plays with what he brought with him, fact, he has almost gone t'other way.

Still good, still worth the status but nowhere near the standard of our best NS's. Giddey is def there as was LaMelo Ball, and without the injuries, RJ Hampton, too. Didi another great example.

Illawarra have found the "Splash" in Harvey but still searching for the "Brother". Reckon he may be living in Perth.
