Hobart Chargers signing Dufelmeier and Moller

Hobart Chargers are recruiting Tad Dufelmeier and Craig Moller. The formers arrival in Hobart is imminent.

Looks like the Chargers are looking to buy another championship like they did in 2018.

Orrrrr maybe players *want* to go there to give themselves the best opportunity of being visible to the new Jackoffs franchise.

I'll believe it when they get there. Kelly not being at Cairns might help as it could take time on which players they want to keep, Duffelmeir would get more opportunities at Cairns than Tasmania. If he signs in Cairns I’d say he’ll play for marlins. Moller I’m not convinced he’ll be there, depending on his next club. It’s been a long season for a lot players, I can see them resting.

Can you show me how they bought the championship in 2018, they had Moller and Nichols and a bunch of locals, Ballarat, Kilsyth, Tigers were stacked as was Nunawading.

Yes both love Tassie what is the problem? Buying another championship is simply wrong. The season is more than 1/2 way over and the small amount of money that is required to recruit these guys is nothing. PLease make sure you criticise every other NBL1 team when they load up at the same time.

Add in Mathiang Muo Sudanese national. Add in Zac White US national.

They bought the championship.

Not saying others don't stack as well.

It just means the win means jack squat to the majority.

Muo was out most of the season, Zac White was an undersized five man that was a local. If it means jack squat to the majority why bring it up. Oh yes that's right, they had the same coach as now who’s doing well with the no name locals.

Muo was not out most of the season, missed maybe a handful of games and certainly played the finals.

White was a NWBU import before he was recruited by the Chargers for the third time.

Even a failed previous import in White was preferable to playing a local in the coaches eyes.

Same thing now, as soon as possible bring on the imports.

The coach is as shocked as anyone the team is sitting 6-3 right now.

Rather than guts the season out with the locals, which could be admired, the club prefers to betray the commitment the locals have put in so far.

Why bring it up?

Where do you think the Chargers money to pay fly ins is coming from?

mate come on...

The government is throwing millions at basketball.

My kids junior AFL club can't even the money to fix the ovals surface and clean up the 40 year old toilets so the kids can play safely.

Just before the last election I asked a couple of the candidates, one on each side, why that is.

I was told by both candidates much of the current money is chasing basketball, throwing money hand over fist at the NBL and NBL1 teams. Apparently the Chargers are getting $150,000 per annum in tax payer money, as it would be a real bad look for them to fall over now the Jack Jumpers are here.

Muo missed most season, got back for finals, was absolute crap in semi but had a great GF. Go and check some of the other sides and check your facts before cramping on. Stewart, Brereton, Moller, Nichols and the locals got that side to the premiership.

The Chargers Men which is what you are talking about have no fly in players. Yes the Government gives the Chargers, Torns and Thunder money to run clinics across the State. Perhaps if your footy club did some due diligence and applied for grants you may have some success. The basketball money isn't a hand out and there are KPI's that are required to be met. The money the Government gives has been in existence for years now. Nothing to do with elections what so ever and long before the Jack Jumpers were in existence. Pretty sure it's $250K split 3 ways. So get you facts right before posting crap.

"My kids junior AFL club can't even the money to fix the ovals surface and clean up the 40 year old toilets so the kids can play safely." That's a council issue not a club issue.

The Tasmanian state government has been funding hawthorn and north Melbourne for years, maybe they could give a bit back to get your oval and amenities in shape.

"What a silly idea pointing out the facts."

This thread is hilarious!

It seems to me the comment is targeted against the OP.

Could just as easily be interpreted for the OP

What a silly idea pointing out that the Chargers think it is at all odd to be questioned on using government money to pay for fly in players to bolster a team sitting on 6-3 record.

It also seems there are KPI's to spending the governments money to pay fly in players....surely not! Government making sure their money is wasted properly or what lmao

Not yet. A fly in player like Maddy Garrick for the Lady Chargers actually fly in for the game and then leave. The Men have requited The Duff who will live in Hobart. See the difference?
6-3 has been done with the current team. Oh every other team will load up with NBL players as well. Was there a point?

No point, stewie just showing he's a good coach and and if those two join, they could win and put a few noses out joint. I’m not convinced either player will join either.

Of course Stewie is a good coach unless you ask Chris. Dufelmeier is expected to suit up for Saturday's blockbuster Vs Thunder in Ulverstone according to the local TV news 5 minutes ago.

Chargers up 14 early 3rd and a massive turnaround for Thunder to win by 13.

Armstrong a massive second half. The team with all players based in the northern half of the state and a fraction of the player budget beating their bigger budget rivals.

Stewy failing to shake the refs hands and skipping the post game coaches talk was a big talking point after the game.

Post game coaches talks? Since when has that been happening? Certainly there is no afterg ame function in Hobart what so ever. Perhaps someone from the Thunder should have told him?

Sorry what does the JJ's have anything to do with that? Refs are generally putrid and that will never change across the League! How they lost a 14 point lead and turned it into a 13 point loss is the interesting question. They were lucky Dufelmeier play or it would have been a 40 point loss. To the guy who nearly had the "16 win" WTF?

'Certainly there is no afterg ame function in Hobart what so ever. ‘
So after teams have travelled part of the day to get to Hobart and most have given up work commitments for the day, the away team plays and finishes at 8pm (women) and 10pm (men) and they don't get any food?

Welcome to Hobart!

The have absolutely shithouse Crust pizzas. I hope they are donated because they are truly terrible.

Perhaps examine every other side in the NBL South to be fair.

No not local enough.

NBL1 is a regional competition.

We want to see players from Hobart.

Very few care about having a starting 5 or any fruits that may flow from them (eg championships) , after Mollers arrival, will be entirely non Hobartians.

Personally I will stop buying tickets and will lose interest.

I don't know why any Tassie business would be interested in putting sponsorship money in either.

As for government money that is apparently kpi'd lmao, spending on non support of our regional talent

The Chargers are a joke.

Look at the haters hatin'....

Don't like it much when their closed little circle gets the big light shined on it.

The lads aren't training this week.

Surprising after the pathetic game in the derby, would have thought they could do with the practice.

Guess Stewie has done his usual and given up on his boys.

He is Waiting for Moller, Duff,God knows who else, to rock in and save his skin.

Thanks for joining Stupid Sally and Stupid Sam. You went to so much trouble to do that and post your personal issues with the Chargers. Rest assured the Chargers don't need people like you anywhere need their organisation or as a fan.
Petty people posting cos things didn't go there way.
Examine all the other teams that aren't training this week and aren't full of locals. You will find everyone is in the same boat. Clearly you need to speak with someone that can assist with your issues. Posting your hatred here is pointless. The only hate here is against you.
