Huge. It's a short backcourt but the pros should outnumber the cons. I think it would make sense for them to look at Simon as well as third import again, he's a good fit next to Harvey/Trice.

Exactly what the Hawks needed a competent ball handler to allow Harvey to do his best work off the ball. Plus you've got Trice's offence for when Harvey dries up too.

A solid signing but lets not forget the league is miles better now than it was when he last played.

This is a heckuva team Illawarra are putting together, considering Goorjian's at the helm you'd almost have them the way-too-early-to-make-predictions 2021/22 favourites.

Agree Simon would be a great fit.

Seem to remember he struggled on the defensive end when he was at the Taipans, has there been any improvement in the last few years?

CT, he played the season after with the bullets and looked serviceable. Doesn't need to be outstanding with Goorjians systems as well.

Goorjian really backing his ability to convert Trice and Froling to competent defenders! You wouldn't bet against him though.

Defensive IQ of this team is abysmal, they will get scored on with ease.

People selling Goorj short again. This team will be up tempo high scoring and play enough team defence to win games.

Gotta laugh at the GAME OVER comment, Hawks have the best looking offensive roster, atleast from deep but defensively this team looks like traffic cones.

Doubt Simon will be enough to change that if he re-signs. New bigman Duop Reath is a very average shot-blocker for his position, Can see them getting absolutely smashed by other squads on nights where shots are not falling.

You dont win with an unbalanced squad, Wildcats are a testament to that. A better organised defensive side will always beat a side that relies too heavily on offensive firepower.

This side looks like one of Joey Wrights. Scorers for days but who is getting stops?
