Interesting piece about SA bball talents

Just read this from the Tiser. Thought it was an interesting bit about Giddey and what the 36ers GM reckons about the bball talent in Australia being on the up. Not too sure about the picks made for the players who could make it overseas bit. Cool to see Harris get a shoutout though haha. What do you guys reckon?

Haven't seen it but it’s probably full of players Scott Butler masterfully guided to 8th at Nationals?

Grant Kelly loves Sth Aussies. Wanted to be Chairman if the Crows, and when missed out, has since joined Port Afelaide!

Pretty fair list.

Yaak has the size. Whether he develops enough skills is to be seen, but definite promise.

Sam Simons is pretty close to already being there. Will be in the Opals by next Olympics.

Olbrich has huge potential. Good call.

Harris is an interesting one. Talented shooter. Can he add more?

Izzy is a really interesting one. Basically plays as a 4/5, but is the size of a guard. Can she still do that at professional level?

Simons an Olympic opal?, great shooter and tall at 6'2 but too slow and can’t defend, poor handles.
I don’t see it, might be in asia cups etc but WCs and olympics, don’t think so.

Izzy one of those odd ones that thrive in juniors but becomes mediocre at senior level.

Simons unfortunately won't be close to Opals in 2024. That's a very biased call that one. Don't think any of them will get close to Senior Australian Team level.

Haven't you lot seen the Forestville socials? Sam Simmons is the GOAT of all GOATs and likely to become the best player ever.

Izzy Borlase played a 4/5 in the u18's as there wasn't another option and she had the ability to get boards.
She is currently playing the 3 in the under 19 world cup and as a 16 year old ig getting very good minutes and performing very well. She can play 1-5 so saying she will be average is an insult.. and to a kid! she is going to be a brilliant talent.

Getting very good minutes? Ok. Look, she's a talent no question there but there's quite a jump from that to being a future Opal.
