2021 Australian Under 14 Championships Cancelled.

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 outbreaks around the country and the uncertainty of interstate travel, Basketball Australia & Casey Basketball Association regret to advise that the 2021 Australian Under-14 Club Championships has been cancelled.

The Championships were due to be held over the last week of September however despite the best efforts from organisers to keep the competition afloat, the ongoing Melbourne lockdown and border closure has forced this decision upon Basketball Australia.

BA would like to thank all teams along with their athletes and families for their continued commitment to the Australian Junior Championships.

BA would also like to acknowledge Casey Basketball Association for their incredible work in preparing to host the 2021 championships. An enormous amount of work has been done from staff and volunteers in the lead up and we extend our thanks to them and their community.

I feel for the children, a lot of them don't get many chances to go to competitions like this.

Get vaccinated, it should have been done by now except it’s not a race, he’s an idiot.

Devastating, but what can you do?
A postponement or potential relocation may have been a better option, but it is what it is.

We've got a few kids (mine included) that missed out on NSWPSSA last year as Year 6 kids & now Nationals this year in Year 7... let's hope they get a better 2022 in Year 8! :)

The U/16 Nationals have been rescheduled to go ahead in October in NT but how can the NSW Teams and possibly Victorian teams go if Covid is still an issue which could be the likelehood.

They've been scheduled to go ahead in Darwin, which is now in lockdown. There are bigger issues than just NSW/Vic, both of which would have surely been discussed before the announcement was made last week.
