Robbie McKinlay appointed Head Coach of CoE Men

Currently working with the NBA Global Academy program at the AIS, McKinlay will transition to the lead role with the Centre of Excellence, taking the reins from outgoing head coach Adam Caporn, who has accepted a role as Head Coach of the Long Island Nets in the NBA G-League.

A former collegiate stand-out at Belmont Abbey College in North Carolina, McKinlay cut his coaching teeth under legendary coach Dip Metress before returning to Australia to work in various youth development roles and a year as an assistant coach with the Sydney Kings in the NBL.

He linked with the NBA Global Academy as an assistant coach in 2017 and has worked with elite prospects from Australia and abroad, including 2021 NBA number six draftee Josh Giddey and NBA G-League Ignite signee Dyson Daniels.
