Get someone who is willing to get FTA TV and mass market to the crowds. He got the naming sponsor, but so far no other benefits.
Here is an idea - offer SBS subsidised rights for cheap (ie one or two "games of the week" plus a 1 hour highlights/round up show). Who cares what channel its on, its on TV. The promise of Phillips adverts ($$$) on SBS should cover any doubts they may have. Foxtel would still have primetime coverage and 'live' games.
Maybe a certain former sixer big wig will go for the job?

Foxtel tv coverage? They already had it. It was renewed and expanded though.
Asian basketball games? Nope. Talk to Perth and Melbourne.
More teams in finals? Maybe. It's worth is debatable.
Naming sponsor? Talk to the Kings.
Finals naming sponsor? Talk to the Bullets.
Points system? Again, talk to Perth and Melbourne.
Less crowds/Struggling Clubs/Lower interest? Blame should be shared around, but it highlights the need for someone excellent, not just competent.
Burton hasn't done a bad job, but it's not necessarily him that has brought some of the goodness back to the NBL.
