#4 Maker from the kings is better than Thon already and he comes off the bench for Sydney. I hope they get to pay the tax if they are over the cap and you would think would be.

No intensity in this game, CJ testing his players to see who he should keep and the kings going through the motions. Kings will put the foot down in the last and win it waiting for the big games.

Where has this been from Hannah all season? Cooks never gets call for three seconds in the key yet never gets out.
Loving the way no name Australian players are doing so well for Sixers. They need opportunities.

Form team of comp. Take down Perth and kjngs.
Can only win. CJ gets his own squad built next season. Sixers are back big time. Fully fit IH. Extra import. It's all up up up.

Onya, sixers.
Kings wisely playing the long game and suiting up a weakened team as a result but that was still another good road win.

Me thinks CJ going to have a long career as a coach. As a player hard to he was smart and intense Brisbane may end up regretting not giving him a shot

Amazing win upset of the season. Imagine if Hannahs was playing like this all season.

Again the knockers of Johnson and Mccaron don't know basketball, yes DJ needs to be better defensively but he is still ok there, his game knowledge and scoring is top rate. Mccaron is very solid and smart. CJ is on the right track. Get rid Humphries and get import 5, get a 1-2 guard and keep working with the young Australian core and Sixers will be back.

I’m flabbergasted at the result but kings still favourites to go on and win championship.

Adelaide have been playing 'better' over the past week but they've not quite warranted Herrman's ridiculous overreaction.

Hannahs has suddenly rediscovered how to play basketball but that has happened at a point when the results are essentially meaningless.

What can we take from here into next season?

Not a whole lot really.

We retain Sotto and McCarron. Johnson probably comes back. Everyone else looks firmly on the chopping block.

Herrman - this season is DEAD. You're watching the last gas releases of a zombie team. "The future" is non-existent. The most influential player tonight for Adelaide wont be being resigned. Yes, credit where it is due, they've played better but it means nothing. I only hope CJ gets a team of his own choosing to work with from now.

ME just stop it. After embarrassing yourself in the Perth post saying "there was nothing particularly impressive about the Sixers" I thought you wouldn't do it again but you have.

"Yes, credit where it is due, they've played better but it means nothing"

It means nothing?

It gives the supporters confidence for next season. So they will renew or buy membership.

It gives the owners/players/fans confidence in CJ.

It shows if they actually get the imports right and replace Humphries with a decent recruit then they are a strong chance to make the top 4 and compete.

It helps show which players should remain at the Sixers next season.

It gives the players confidence of wanting to stay here.

Yes it means nothing.....

You also added this

"Everyone else looks firmly on the chopping block."

Really? So Dech, Bairstow, Harris, Dufelmeier are firmly on the chopping block? Yeah right.

By the way what happened to your rant of "I value my time I am not going to watch the Sixers anymore this season"?

Me I think my comments are probably more credible then yours laugh out loudest.. sixers looking likely 3peat. To put wrapper on the deal..

Has it given supporters confidence? I don't think too many supporters have seen the shitshow that has been the last couple of years for the Sixers and they're suddenly queuing up for memberships.

"Really? So Dech, Bairstow, Harris, Dufelmeier are firmly on the chopping block? Yeah right."

How are they not? You'd play Russian Roulette with Bairstow's injury history? I am not sure what Dech gives you that McCarron doesn't. Dufelmeier maybe can see himself as a firm shot at re-signing. Harris is a bit player and they could either keep him or not.

"By the way what happened to your rant of "I value my time I am not going to watch the Sixers anymore this season"?"

I happened to find free time and was bored enough to watch them. I am not going to pretend that the Perth game was embarrassing for us (because I conceded that yes, they did play reasonably well) so I decided that I didn't mind watching them play Sydney. I was mostly watching that game to see Sydney to be fair. Had it been Adelaide vs. a team not in the top four I would have allocated those 2 hours elsewhere.

Anyway, two good games might be heartening to see, but they don't wash away the dregs that have been the last few seasons for Adelaide. If you want to give CJ a bit of freedom with the roster - fine. I am willing to concede that something he's doing may have led to a late-season reversal of fortunes. I am also willing to say that the season may have looked different had Humphries and Bairstow stayed healthy. But we had the team we have. With the Jack Jumpers doing what they're doing we really lack an excuse on our performance these past few seasons. I am not going to give away participation trophies or pats on the back for essentially meaningless games. I'm just going to say maybe there's scope to turn things around next year. But let's not get so damn hyped about it. We do need to make some big changes to get anywhere near the playoffs next season.

Any reason why Malou doesn't get a look in? It’s just bizarre.

It’s probably not a good culture to have players not getting time we expect they would and others leaping in front and so on. Player distrust, chemistry, angst will emanate and probably has last few seasons.

Adelaide needs to get its side and balance right, the roles and expectations need to align. That doesn’t mean players get a free-ride to minutes by any means, but a semblance of alignment helps a side be successful.

Don’t sign 10-12 players where the expectation of time exceeds the amount that can be offered. Have a few players that would just be happy to get minutes and will put in effort to justify every minute - like Marshall, Gattorna from that development view, like what we saw of Harris from taking on responsibility POV.

Last few weeks, less has been more for Adelaide - probably because it has been about effort and opportunities.

KET, I not long ago thought the same of Malou.

I figured it stems from CJ juggling everything around, seeing what works etc. Would've been difficult for him this season being given the keys to a team at a late point with absolutely no input re playing roster.

Malou has been disappointing all season. When JVG signed him he was trumpeted as some sort of shot-blocking specialist with a highlight of a couple of monster blocks he had in the QBL as proof.

He's been anything but and anytime I've seen him get on the court he just starts jacking up threes immediately. There's nothing to be gained by wasting court time on him hence why DP's like Marshall & Gattorna are playing ahead of him.

After seeing a bit of him at the Taipans last season I never expected much from Mojave King either but those two have been our most disappointing healthy players this season. The Humphries & Bairstow breakdowns were to be expected.

Gattorna showed a bit, you need guys at back of bench that can come on and contribute when starters not getting it done.

Exactly not 6'9" athletic PF's content on getting up as many 3's as they can before getting dragged.

Harris has been a minor revelation of late with his hustle and energy and Gattorna showed some of that today too.

Malou was playing Sunday night domestic at MSAC not too long ago, previously a few years before that he declared for the NBA draft, seems bizarre.

DJ isn't ok defensively, he is horrific. But he is very, very good offensively. Next season, if they're serious about winning Johnson has a reduced role coming off the bench.

Have to feel for Bruton, had two defensive liabilities in Johnson and Hannahs who were supposed to be major pieces. Hard to play them much together unless they're on fire at the other end.
