Interesting, but not too surprised. Good to see Thon Maker, Jack White and Sam Froling in the mix.

Thought Chris Goulding, JLA and Duop Reath would be in this squad. Shame Cotton hasn't got his citizenship yet.

Will this be the same squad for the Fiba Asia Cup?

What NBLTigers said, + Sobey.

BA must be confident they'll do alright with what they have. I don’t even know how these qualifiers work - can someone clarify. Is this just a pool and top 2 go through? Something else?

No overseas players, probably not available. Some average players but good luck to them. I thought Kay, Moller and Brandt were excellent in the February series just gone.

Kay, Moller and Brandt always seem to get the flick. I would of had Kay and Brandt in this squad.

I'm going to the Friday night game. Will be great to be able to see Delly in green and gold rather than United colours.

We could lose a few games...
I believe China is close to full strength.

Losing games at home won't look good even though we are already qualified for next round.
Placing in the group means something for next round.
Think they should have had a few more guys, Kay, creek, cooks, Reath, Vasljevic, Goulding etc

Top two qualify for the next (and final) round.

Isnt it top 3?

Then we play games against the top 3 of another group, keeping our records from this first group and then the top 3 of that merged group go through.

so yeah its better if we can win as many games as possible in the first phase to make the second phase more secure.

A bit of a poor showing from Aussie players here. I am sure they'll all put their hands up to play at the World Cup, but are shunning the responsibility of actually getting us there. I'd like to know what is so important that it is keeping Chris Goulding, Nathan Sobey, JLA, Creek, Cooks, Reath from putting their hands up. Goorjian said himself that if we fall a level below the top NBL guys we're going to be in a dog fight, and it looks like that is where we will be come June 30. Delly, once again, answers the call. Nice to see Jack White in the squad. Thon Maker is obviously the X factor here in that we don't know what he will give us but it has the potential to be very good. If China comes in full strength we may be playing with underdog status.

The second phase group is now set.

First round results carry over into second round.
We just can't lose to kazakistan, Iran or Syria/Bahrain.
Japan auto qualify as hosts.
Top 3 teams in this group qualify to WC.

Australia
Japan
China
Kazakhstan
Iran
Syria Or Bahrain

"Kay, Moller and Brandt always seem to get the flick."

When has Kay got the flick? He's an integral part of the Boomers.

Who are we expecting to play in the next window of qualifiers?

Bahrain on the 25th and Iran on the 29th.
Doubt most of the guys who just went to asia cup will go again.
