I said in the other thread I think its a great fit.

He'll be on a good team but will have a chance to contribute as potentially the first or second wing off the bench.

Did anyone see the mini video they did right after he was drafted? I had sound off, there was vision of a sherrin and an NFL ball, then NFL vision. What was going on there?

Also was told by interviewer he played rugby growing up, he corrected them and said AFL. Americans really cant get their head around all that.

Probably just the standard AFL marketing package: get said Australian NBA player to pose with a sherrin, get them to hold up jersey, get them to talk about how they once considered playing AFL.

I could find the same video on every Australian NBA basketball player.

What's with all the goobers in this thread? This young bloke is superb and will probably love playing with the likes of Ingram.

Why should Americans or anyone else for that matter know about a sport played in one country, no scratch that, half of one country? Get a grip.

Some savage pruning, sorry. Let's keep it about Dyson and civil.

Thanks, Isaac - a certain 'contributor' certainly knows how to lower the tone of any discussion.

Agree, Zodiac, but did everyone in your original list play?

Back to Ed - he had a lot to do with the NBA in his time, esp as shooting coach. Didn't he even get a ring for his efforts? (Good trivia question - who got an NBA ring but never played?)

I'll correct myself - yep, they played

Yes everyone on that list played in the NBA including Magnay (one game).

It was in response to a troll rubbishing Aussies in the NBA because he was pissed Travers got drafted and Sotto didn't.

He worked with Shaq and fixed his free throw motion resulting in a career best percentage from the charity stripe. Not sure about the ring though.

From Wikipedia:

Palubinskas took a position as shooting coach to Shaquille O'Neal with the Los Angeles Lakers for the 2000-01 NBA season. Following the Lakers' triumph in the NBA, Palubinskas also received an NBA champion's ring.
